Star Wars Blips is a series of animated YouTube short videos produced by the Star Wars YouTube channel featuring BB-8 and often R2-D2 or Chewbacca. The first short was released on May 3, 2017.[1] The series includes various creatures or droids, like the porgs[3], BB-9E[4], 2BB-2 or BB-4[5], which were created for the then-upcoming Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi.
Three episodes were first released on the official Star Wars app during Force Friday II's Find the Force event, in which customers could scan special posters and standees in shops with new products released on Force Friday II to unlock AR rewards.[6] These episodes were also released on YouTube in the days after.[4]These episodes were all put on the streaming service Disney+.
