Burkett, with interior art by Frank Boyd Forney. It is the first installment of the book series Star Wars Science Adventures, and it was published on February 1, 1999 by Scholastic. A sequel, Star Wars Science Adventures: Journey Across Planet X, was also published.
Emergency in Escape Pod Four is set in the year 0 ABY, and it introduces the young Rebel Stuart Zissu and the research droid 4B-X as they go on an adventure with the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO. The book also includes several activities which demonstrate physics from the story.
