Star Wars Tales #4 is the fourth issue of the Star Wars Tales series of comics. It was published on June 28, 2000 by Dark Horse Comics.

Publisher's summary[]

Kevin Rubio, creator of the hilarious short film TROOPS, lends his bit of craziness to this month's Tales. Lovern Kindzierski and fan-favorite Doug Wheatley (Aliens: Apocalypse) team up to spin a yarn. And Kilian Plunkett's comical "Sandblasted " follows up on the acclaimed adventures of Jabba the Hutt's nefarious swoop thugs, Big Gizz and Spiker, who encounter a dark trooper in the ruins of Tatooine's Podracing arena. The trooper is malfunctioning, but its weapons systems are still fully functional! Mayhem ensues.

Introduction[]

"Dear Editor. I think you need more lightsaber fights in STAR WARS TALES. Sincerely, Max Denning (age 3)"
―Dave Land, from a reader's letter[3]

Star Wars Tales editor Dave Land introduces the issue and presents a letter from three-year-old reader Max Denning, requesting more lightsaber combat in the series. In response, Land arranges a lightsaber duel between K'Kruhk, from the Jedi Council: Acts of War series, and that series' artist Ramón F. Bachs. K'kruhk strikes down the unprepared Bachs, while Land, unphased, encourages readers to continue with the issue and to send further feedback.[3]
