"We can't have fruit whenever we want and there isn't anymore starblossom. There isn't ever going to be more."
―Anandra scolds Santigo for asking for starblossom[src]

Starblossom was a type of fruit that grew on the planet Alderaan and was edible to members of the human species. Following the destruction of Alderaan by the Galactic Empire[1] in 0 BBY,[2] Santigo Milon, an Alderaanian survivor who was living on the planet Coruscant, wished that he had starblossom to eat. His sister, Anandra Milon, scolded him for the wishful thinking, as starblossom were no longer available to them or, as far as Anandra knew, anyone else in the galaxy.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

The starblossom fruit was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in the short story "One Thousand Levels Down," which was written by Alexander Freed and published in Star Wars Insider 151 in 2014.[1] It was first created for the 1995 Star Wars Legends novel Children of the Jedi by Barbara Hambly.[3]

In "One Thousand Levels Down," Anandra Milon states that after the destruction of Alderaan starblossom were no longer available to anyone, but this was only an assumption made by the character which was not verified.[1]
