The Star Tours Speeder,[2] or StarSpeeder, was a space-capable commuter ship[1] used by the Star Tours travel agency. Measuring 9.36 meters in length, it was boxy with a downwardly angled front side, and featured at least five doors on starboard side.[2] It had four engines that emanated a blue glow.[3]

In the year 34 ABY,[7] a Star Tours Speeder was left parked at Niima Outpost, on the desert planet Jakku on the day the scavenger Rey fled the First Order.[8] The AC-series pilot droid AC-38 once piloted one such starship.[1] In 35 ABY,[9] after the Sith Eternal revealed itself to the galaxy, at least one Star Tours Speeder joined the fleet assembled in response to General Lando Calrissian's call to action and then partook in the Battle of Exegol.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

It was Jean-Denis Haas, Associate Animation Supervisor at Industrial Light & Magic, who put the Star Tours Speeder into the final space battle of the 2019 film Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker. While visible in the film, the Star Tours Speeder was originally supposed to be framed a bit more prominently.[10] It originally appeared in 2011 in the non-canon Star Tours: The Adventures Continue attraction located at several Disney parks as the StarSpeeder 1000, itself based on the StarSpeeder 3000 from the original Star Tours that opened at Disneyland in 1987.[11]
