- "Well I can't say I really remember. I was very young when I left my homeworld."
- ―Obi-Wan Kenobi, to Anakin Skywalker
Stewjon was a planet[5] in the Deep Core[1] that was the homeworld of Obi-Wan Kenobi, a male human Jedi Master.[3] Between 32 and 29 BBY,[6] Kenobi told his Padawan, Anakin Skywalker, that he did not remember leaving his homeworld.[4] Stewjon was also the homeworld of Tadd Marteens, a farmer who joined the Alliance to Restore the Republic after the Battle of Yavin.[7]
Behind the scenes[]
- "This is one of the first things I wrote in the very first script. He comes from the planet Stewjon."
- ―George Lucas, joking about Obi-Wan Kenobi's planet of origin to Jon Stewart
The name of Obi-Wan Kenobi's homeworld was coined by George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars. At the Celebration V convention in Orlando, Florida, comedian and talk-show host Jon Stewart interviewed Lucas, and Stewart asked for the name of Obi-Wan Kenobi's home planet. Lucas jokingly replied that it was "Stewjon," a tuckerization of Stewart's name.[9][8] The official StarWars.com Encyclopedia entry on Obi-Wan Kenobi later listed Stewjon as Kenobi's homeworld.[3]

- ↑ Age of Republic - Obi-Wan Kenobi 1 takes place in between Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas places in 32 BBY, and Star Wars: Obi-Wan and Anakin. Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide dates Anakin Skywalker's birth to 41 BBY, and since Anakin is 12 years old in Star Wars: Obi-Wan and Anakin, it must take place in 29 BBY. Therefore, Age of Republic - Obi-Wan Kenobi 1 must take place in between 29 BBY and 32 BBY.
