Stimsenj'kat was an MC80 Star Cruiser in the Alliance Fleet.
History[]
During the Galactic Civil War, the Stimsenj'kat led a retrieval mission in an asteroid field to obtain a large supply of lonsigar that had been abandoned in a pair of cargo containers. The vessel deployed six Delta-class DX-9 stormtrooper transports from Renhoek group to unload the containers and bring back the lonsigar.
Unfortunately, the operation turned out to be an Imperial trap when three Nebulon-B frigates came out of hyperspace and launched waves of TIE Fighters, TIE Bombers, and TIE Avengers to exterminate the Rebels.
Fortunately, Rebel pilot Keyan Farlander and the other pilots destroyed most of the Imperial forces and bought the Stimsenj'kat the time it needed to finish the cargo transfer and to flee into hyperspace.
Behind the scenes[]
The name Stimsenj'kat is similar to "Stimpson J. Cat," a lead character from the cartoon series Ren & Stimpy. The name of the cruiser's transport group Renhoek is similar to "Ren Höek," the series' other lead character.
A mislabeled MC80 Home One type Star Cruiser
Although the Mon Calamari Star Cruisers featured in Star Wars: X-Wing: Collector's CD-ROM are identified in-game as MC80a Star Cruisers, they are visually modeled on the Home One type Star Cruiser[1] seen in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.[2]
