"If it's got wings and an engine, I can fly it. Probably."
"This ship doesn't have either of those! It's got wind and a sail!"
―Poe Dameron and Suralinda Javos[1]

The stormsailer was an aerial vehicle used for the races across the stormsea on the planet Pheryon. The vehicle was devoid of any wings or any engines, and was dependent on its sails and the wind. Some stormsailer pilots flew their stormsailers dangerously low, dipping into the stormsea, where the weather conditions were the most hazardous, in an effort to boost their speed. Such maneuvers were only successful about half the time, and failing could have lethal consequences.

History[]

"I've read about these ships. The lower you go, the faster you go. The best pilots win races by dipping down into the stormsea to boost their speed."
―Poe Dameron[1]

In 34 ABY, Resistance pilot Poe Dameron and journalist Suralinda Javos stole a stormsailer to escape from three pirates during a skirmish on Pheryon. Dameron successfully navigated the ship through the stormsea to a safe mooring.[1]
