Stormtrooper commanders were officers who commanded groups of seven lower ranking stormtroopers.[8] They wore orange,[7] and red pauldrons.[9] Stormtrooper commanders could also refer to the officer in command of a capital ship's stormtrooper attachment, such as Major Ayer of the Chimaera.[1]
Equipment
While most stormtrooper commanders were armed with E-11 blaster rifles,[9][10] some used DLT-19 heavy blaster rifles.[11] They were also equipped with grenades.[12]
Role
Stormtrooper commanders coordinated attacks and commanded group maneuvers of nearby stormtroopers. Their command allowed focused and synchronized fire on targets.[12]
