"It seems our original transport has a blown subalternator. Obviously there's not much to be done with that. They claimed to have arranged a substitute for us, but even the substitute is running late."
Dez Rydan[src]

Sub-alternators[1] were a type of starship component.[2] In 232 BBY,[3] a starship initially tasked with transporting four Jedi from Coruscant to the Starlight Beacon space station was pulled off of the task after suffering a blown subalternator, leading to the Byne Guild transport Vessel being substituted in its place.[2]

Notes and references[]

  1. Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker
  2. 2.0 2.1 The High Republic: Into the Dark
  3. The Star Wars Book dates the launch of the Starlight Beacon, which is shown in The High Republic: Light of the Jedi, to 232 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds to 232 BBY in the dating system established by Star Wars: Galactic Atlas. As such, all of the events of Light of the Jedi must occur in that year, including the Great Hyperspace Disaster. As The High Republic: Into the Dark also depicts the Great Disaster, its events must occur in the same year.
