- "Surik's Blade!"
- ―Sskeer
Surik was an entity referred to in the exclamation "Surik's Blade!" During the High Republic Era, the Trandoshan Jedi Master Sskeer used the exclamation when he and fellow Jedi Terec fell under attack from a Nihil marauder while exploring the wreckage of a Hutt starship.[1] Jedi archivist OrbaLin thought of the phrase when he fought the Nihil Tempest Runner Lourna Dee during a pirate attack on Valo.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
Surik was mentioned in the second issue of the comic series Star Wars: The High Republic, written by Cavan Scott and published by Marvel Comics[1] on February 3, 2021.[3] The name is shared with Meetra Surik, a female Jedi Master[4] introduced as the protagonist of the 2004 Star Wars Legends video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords.[5] When asked on Twitter whether or not the expression was a direct reference to Meetra Surik, Scott implied that it was.[6]
