Suspended animation was a state of temporary cessation of the vital functions. It could be achieved through various technologies, such as entropy fields,[1] stasis fields,[2] stasis domes,[3] cybernetic hibernation,[4] stasis chambers,[5] or carbon-freezing.[6] In his personal museum onboard the star yacht First Light, the gangster Dryden Vos kept several rare creatures in suspended animation as trophies.[1]
