- "Leave us."
- ―Chancellor Palpatine dismisses Sweitt Concorkill
Sweitt Concorkill was a Vurk senator for the Galactic Republic Senate and a renowned diplomat with a long career who joined the Delegation of 2,000 during the Clone Wars. In 19 BBY, Concorkill spoke with Jedi Master Coleman Kcaj before attending a performance of Squid Lake at the Galaxies Opera House on the planet Coruscant and sat in the private box of Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine, who he mistakenly believed he could convince to relinquish authority. Halland Goth, a member of Palpatine's personal guard, later recalled Concorkill as possibly being the senator for Sembla, the Vurk homeworld.
Biography[]
- "Palpatine dismissed his party—there was Mas Amedda, and his chief of staff, Sly Moore. And a senator from Sembla, I think. Palpatine sent them away, and Shalk escorted them out."
- ―Halland Goth
Sweitt Concorkill was a Vurk senator who served in the Galactic Senate of the Republic during the Clone Wars.[1] Over a long career he negotiated many truces and deescalated many conflicts, earning a reputation as a renowned diplomat.[2] Concorkill joined the Delegation of 2,000, a group of senators who were concerned with Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine's continued use of emergency powers during the war.[1]

Shortly after the Battle of Coruscant[3] in 19 BBY,[5] Concorkill attended a performance of the opera Squid Lake at the Galaxies Opera House on the planet Coruscant. Before the performance commenced, he conversed with Jedi Master Coleman Kcaj outside the opera house. The senator then sat in Palpatine's private viewing box along with[3] Vice Chair[1] Mas Amedda,[3] senior administrative aide[1] Sly Moore, and the Supreme Chancellor himself.[3] The party was accompanied by two members of Palpatine's personal guard, Halland Goth and Lieutenant Cempo Shalk.[4]
Midway through the performance, Palpatine calmly dismissed Concorkill, Amedda, and Moore from the box upon the arrival of Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, whom Palpatine had invited to watch the opera with him.[3] Shalk then escorted Concorkill and the others out,[4] leaving Palpatine and Skywalker to have a private conversation on matters relating to knowledge of the Force.[3] Later that year,[6] after the Republic transitioned into the Galactic Empire with Palpatine as its Emperor, Goth told his TC-series protocol droid TC-99 about Skywalker and Palpatine's interaction at the opera house, recalling Concorkill only as possibly being the senator for Sembla,[4] the Vurk homeworld.[7]
Personality and traits[]
Concorkill had green skin and light-blue eyes.[3] A skilled diplomat, he mistakenly believed that he could talk Palpatine into relinquishing his authority.[2] When Palpatine asked Concorkill to leave his box in the opera house,[3] the Vurk did so with meditative grace.[8]
Equipment[]
The senator was elegantly clad[8] in a red-and-white-patterned robes while at the opera,[3] very similar to those worn by Junior Representative Jar Jar Binks.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Sweitt Concorkill was originally the Ongree character that became Coleman Kcaj (pictured).
Sweitt Concorkill first appeared in the 2005 film Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, the final installment of the Star Wars prequel trilogy.[3] For the new Star Wars canon, the character was first identified by name in 2016 by the Star Wars: Card Trader app.[9] That name had originally been introduced in the 2005 Star Wars Legends reference book Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith: The Visual Dictionary, which was written by James Luceno.[10]
Concorkill was originally meant to be an Ongree senator based on the design of character Pablo-Jill from Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. However, once the Pablo-Jill model was redesigned for Revenge of the Sith, the Ongree senator's clothes were changed to Jedi robes, and the character was renamed Coleman Kcaj. As a result, the name Sweitt Concorkill was mistakenly applied to an image of Kcaj in Revenge of the Sith The Visual Dictionary.[11] This error was ultimately rectified for Star Wars Legends in the 2005 Star Wars Insider 85 article "Who's Who in the Delegation of 2000," written by Daniel Wallace.[12]
