The Tak-Beam complex served as a base on the planet Durkteel for the Alliance to Restore the Republic in the final stages of the Galactic Civil War against the Galactic Empire. Around this time archivist and aide to Chancellor Mon Mothma Hendri Underholt undertook a mission to Durkteel to safeguard The Rebel Files. Later, on the same day as the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, the complex was bombarded by three Star Destroyers and destroyed. The Rebel Files would be uncovered decades later during the excavation of a new comm tower uncovered the site. The Rebel Files eventually found their way to General Leia Organa of the Resistance, a former member of the Alliance.[1]

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 Star Wars: The Rebel Files
  2. Since the facility was destroyed on the same day as the Battle of Endor, which according to Star Wars: Galactic Atlas was in 4 ABY, then we can deduce that the event also took place in 4 ABY.
  3. According to Star Wars: The Rebel Files, the Galactic Empire created a new calendar with AFE, or After the Formation of the Empire, being the years after the Proclamation of the New Order, while BFE, or Before the Formation of the Empire, being the years before the Proclamation of the New Order. Since 4 ABY was 23 standard years after the Proclamation, we can infer that this event took place in 23 AFE on the Imperial calendar.
