Plot summary[]

Vroma, a young Nautolan, is being pursued through the streets on Hon-Tallos carrying a Durga Berry in her arms. She trips and the berry smashes. A group of kids, the pursuers, come up and a human named Ghenli a claims it was his berry and says that "Tentacle-Heads" like her should stay out of "My" grove. A Shani Nihil Named Deva Lompop witnesses the exchange and asks why so many tears over a berry. Vroma explains the berries are her mom's favorites and she wanted to bring some to them. Deva agrees this would be a nice thing to do. Vroma then explains that Ghenli is a bully who takes everything he wants. Deva tells her she should take things back. Vroma replies that stealing is wrong. Deva asks if taking back something that was yours is stealing. Vroma is unsure. Deva then admits she has a questionable moral compass but that Vroma shouldn't let people push her around. Vroma says she shouldn't be talking to her since she's a stranger. Deva introduces herself and states she's one of the Nihil. Vroma asks if that's like one of the Jedi. Deva laughs and says not at all, but that she will teach that bully a lesson.

Later in the grove Vroma explains what usually happens when she comes to get berries. Deva asks why she doesn't go out the back. Vroma explains that that way is longer, she has to be quick to get away from Ghenli and his friends, and that the woods are dark and scary. Deva says she has an idea, you don't have to be quick if you're smart, and that the bullies will never bother Vroma again.

We see Vroma in the grove once again carrying a berry. She states "This is a terrible idea"' Deva says from the bushes to trust her.

Vroma runs into Ghenli who says he told her to stay out of the grove. Vroma says she wouldn't do that because the grove guardians wouldn't like it. Ghenli laughs and says there's no such thing. He and his two friends start to chase her and we see the two unamed friends get yanked out of the frame one at a time. Ghenli turns around and asks where they went.

Vrona says she warned him and he has made the guardians angry. Ghenli accuses her of trying to scare him with words. just then, a voice from the trees asks "who dares disturb my groves?". Ghenli asks who is there. Deva days she is the grove guardian and will punish those who do not share. Ghenli says she's not real. Deva says that if he won't heed her warning she will devour him. We see her with jaws japing and reptilian tongue lashing as she jumps out at Ghenli. Ghenli apologizes and says he'll never steal from Vrona again as he flees. Deva emerges brushing off the vines she'd used to make herself bigger and states she's "still got it" as she rehinges her jaws.

Back in town, Vrona says she can't believe that worked and asks if she can join the Nihil. Deva says anyone can join, but they do more pirating and stealing than stopping bullies. Vrona says her moms wouldn't like that. Deva laughs and says she's probably right and that she should get home because her and her friend were going to have some fun before the Jedi arrive to "ruin everything". We then see Vrona on her way home with the berry sayng "what a nice lady" as the city is attacked in the background.
