About the date...Edit

While the early episodes of Star Wars Rebels are placed in 5 BBY, the reason the events after the Empire Day episode placed at the date 4 years before the Battle of Yavin is because Ezra's birthday passed? I don't see any relationship between the Battle of Yavin and the Empire Day(Ezra's Birthday). Doesn't it still has to remain as 5 BBY? Or is there something I missed? I'm confused. • I'm not sure what you're asking (your question isn't very clear—sorry!), but you essentially answered your own question. Rebels started 5 years before Yavin. With "Empire Day," it's now 4 years before Yavin. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 15:44, March 3, 2015 (UTC)
    • I think they're wondering why Empire Day/Ezra's birthday marks the beginning of a new in-universe year. It seems to me that doing so would imply that RotS switches over to 18 BBY during its final act. Operative lm (talk) 15:48, March 3, 2015 (UTC)
      • Not really. Episode III takes place 19 years before the Battle of Yavin. Rebels starts 5 years before the Battle of Yavin, aka 14 years after Episode III. "Empire Day" explicitly states it's the 15th anniversary of the rise of the Empire. That means it's 15 years after Sidious transformed the Republic into the Empire, and therefore 4 years before the Battle of Yavin. I'm sure it's give or take several weeks or months in relation to Yavin, but that's what we have to go on. Otherwise we'd have to treat everything in Rebels as 5 years before Episode IV, despite the clear passage of time. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 15:51, March 3, 2015 (UTC)
        • Yeah, I blanked that it was stated as the fifteenth; I guess I'd had it in my head that it was the fourteenth, keeping with 5 BBY and all. But I agree with your reasoning. Thank you, sir. And I hope this helps Jaewade as well. Operative lm (talk) 16:11, March 3, 2015 (UTC)
        • I get it now. Thanks. Jaewade (talk) 01:44, March 4, 2015 (UTC)
