Does anyone else notice something wrong with this? Like the fact that the New Republic had no idea where Wayland was until 9 ABY? -- SFH 23:41, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

  • Yeah, I agree. I think the plot of Empire at War really shouldn't be onsidered canon, especially if the player goes and conquers the whole of the galaxy before Alderaan gets cooked. And plus, it's very likely that the Death Star will be destroyed somewhere other than Yavin.--Commander Mike 15:43, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
    • Yet another way games go against canon. Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 15:45, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
      • They don't always. And, usually, when they do, they usually just conflict a little instead of totally mess it up. Empire At War really does, though, because its whole point is basically to do the war in your own way as opposed to the movies. So it is definitely going to conflict with canon.--Commander Mike 18:58, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
        • They usually do, like Battlefront, Battlefront II, Empire at War, and many others. And no matter if it's a little thing or a big deal, most games do go against canon at one point or another. But this is getting off of the subject. Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 19:00, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
          • They're meant to be selectively canon. In Battlefront II, for example, some things are designed to be canon (Battle of Mygeeto) while others (Dark troopers in the Battle of Hoth) are not. This battle is one of those that quite obviously isn't. --Thetoastman 03:02, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
            • BUT... "I myself like games driven by a story, and I think there are many who would agree, which would probably explain the inclusion of story-driven campaigns [in the Holocron] in Battlefront II and Empire at War." Leland Chee

Sounds to me like an admission of EaW's canonicity. Cutch 03:06, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

i have a theroy about this battle, when did palpatine take wayland? he probley didn't have his warehouse as soon as he became emperoer. the rebellion also didn't know about his warehouse at all if you remeber, they might know about the planet but the warehouse was secreat

20:36, 27 October 2006 (UTC)20:36, 27 October 2006 (UTC)~~ But Palpatine had this "Mount Doom" equipped with Cloning devices during Clone Wars - it's described in short story "Hero of Cartao" by Timothy Zahn

  • This is messy. The Last Command makes a big to-do about the discovery of Wayland, and Mara Jade is the only one who knows where it is. I don't see how any retcon other than "This battle doesn't really take place on Wayland" can work. .... 23:12, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

well, the only ones who were really there were raymus antilles, whos dead, and threepio and artoo, and they didn't really ask the droids about wayland and the soliders might have been dead at the time of dark forces rising 72.230.40.84 02:38, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

I just wanted to add the fact that after the battle, the troops are pulled off the planet, and it's not actually brought under alliance control unless the player decides to capture it afterwards.

There is a similar situation with Fresia afterwards. Even though Mon Mothma advises the player to NOT take control of Fresia (much to the chargrin of Raymus Antilles) in fear of imperial reprisal against the world, the player is still able to capture the planet.

I'm guessing this goes with the "make your own history" theme of the game, but if I had done it, I would have caused both planets to simply become unavailable again after the missions were completed, following the canon.

  • Also note that some Psadan (i.e. Looie) had left the planet long before it was "discovered" by Luke and Mara. Long, long before. Cutch 22:57, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
    • You would think, though, that an operation to Wayland would appear in Alliance, and by default, New Republic records, as would the planet's location. .... 23:06, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

I was think this thorugh, i think the battle did happen, the replubic knew about the planet itself. mabey noone knew about the warehouse. Groode hdoge 01:15, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

  • I've adressed this to Leland Chee. Bly1993

So? What did he say? --Modgamers 17:34, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
