Move to C-9979 landing craft? Cmdr. J. Nebulax 19:49, 16 Oct 2005 (UTC)

HyperdriveEdit

Does any one know if the C-9979 landing craft has hyperspace capibilities or does it need a Lucrehulk-class battleship for deployment? User:Lucky

  • I think it needs the Lucrehulk battleships. It's too small to have a hyperdrive. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 21:02, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
    • Okay but it's not to small X-wing and other starfighters have hyperdrives. User:Lucky
      • I didn't mean it as size, but room. I don't think there's enough room for a hyperdrive. Sorry about that. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 21:07, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
        • It's probably cheaper to mass produce them without hyperdrive With 50 per battleship it's not like there in short suppy.User:Lucky
          • Well, that plus the fact that it carries so many MTTs and AATs. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 23:21, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
            • Can this ship carry battle droids or anything else besides AATs and MTTs?User:Lucky
              • Well, considering the MTTs carry battle droids, yes. As for anything else, I'm not sure. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 21:43, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
                • In the micro series you see super battle droids running out of the craft is that accurit? User:Lucky
  • Since they're landing craft, then, yes, they can probably carry just about anything. Troops, vehicles, materials. That's what landing craft do. :) VT-16 07:20, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
    • Well, if I remember correctly, the Episode I Incredible Cross-Sections only said that it only carried AATs and MTTs. I could be wrong, though. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 20:38, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
      • But did it say it couldn't carry troops? Those storage areas in the wings would have room enough for thousands of droids if they wanted to just carry them down directly. VT-16 09:36, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
        • Well, if there we're so many AATs and MTTs in the wings, I suppose battle droids could be carried down in there. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) Imperial Emblem 22:07, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
          • In Episode I we do see B-1s walking out behind and in front of the MTTs exiting the landing ship.--Rune Haako 22:10, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

  • Okay, then, I'm wrong. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) Imperial Emblem 22:18, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
    • Those droids could just be scouts or part of the crewUser:Lucky
      • Perhaps. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) Imperial Emblem 20:02, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
      • It wouldn't be surprising if the standard deployment tactic was to send out some foot soldiers, perhaps unloaded early from the transports, to take a look around along with STAPs. — Aiddat (Holonet) (Contribs Log) NR Seal 02:46, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

So could it carry materials or other machines as STAP or hailfire droid?

  • In the game Jedi Starfighter, the C-9979s carry starfighters (Scarabs, Vultures, and bombers)and can deploy them in space. Also you see one transport come out of hyperspace. I'm not saying they all had hyperdrives but it could be mentioned one was seen with a hyperdrive.23:55, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
    • Also in the orignal game "Star Wars: Starfighter" in one of the early missions a lone landing craft of this type was acting as a starfighter carrier and had a hyperdrive. However the games are sometimes dubious as to their canonicity. It's still questionable whether they had hyperdrive engines or not but even smaller shuttles or landing craft had hyperdrives. Maphisto86 06:27, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
      • That could warrant a separate "C-9979 starfighter carrier" article. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 11:31, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
        • Yea, I forgot about the one in Starfighter. So, in Starfighter one C-9979 is seen going into hyperspace and a C-9979 is seen coming out in Jedi Starfighter, at least. Separate article or no separate article, something in this article should be mentioned about C-9979s carrying hyperdrives. 21:20, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
          • Not necessarily. First we need to know if hyperdrives were standard. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 21:37, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
            • They weren't standard. Episode I: Incredible Cross-Sections list its hyperdrive as "none". But that does not mean there weren't modified versions. Both times they were seen with hyperdrives they were carrying starfighters. 23:22, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Quote...Edit

Is the current lead quote the best we could find? Seriously, it's connection to the C-9979 is flimsy at best. Unit 8311 15:55, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Hyperdrive... Edit

Has anyone played the jedi starfighter game? The first level a C-9979 jumps in from hyperspace if im remembering right. It deffinetely didnt get dropped of by a larger ship.

L-2832Edit

Is this one of these ships? http://www.tierfon.be/images/stories/CW%20ship%20cards/ship16.jpg 71.217.5.241 05:36, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

redirect mistakeEdit

I don't think Trade Federation dropship from Jedi Starfighter should redirect here. I am pretty sure the dropship in that game is a smaller thingJustinGann 23:09, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
