Droid in workshop[]

How do we know that the CZ droid hanging on the wall down in the droid workshop was CZ-4? If so, how did he get fixed up so quickly to be upstairs in Jabba's throne room? 'Alpha85 Mod terrik (Kamino Databank) 05:44, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Well, was he even in disrepair in Jabba's droid workshop? —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 12:08, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
    • I do not think he was in disrepair at all, that droid hanging on the wall is probably CZ-3. 'Alpha85 Mod terrik (Kamino Databank) 15:37, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
  • There is a lot of confusion about CZ-4. Is he the broken Droid? Hasbro's backcard says yes but what is he doing then later in the Throne Room? I've asked Leland Chee about this. But this "Later, when Luke Skywalker made his appearance before Jabba requesting that Han Solo be released, CZ-4 was back up in the palace throne room. CZ-4 was likely moments away from alerting Jabba of Luke's newly acquired blaster from Nizuc Bek, but was interrupted in following his protocol, as Jabba immediately dropped Luke into his rancor pit". looks to me like pure nonsence. I got no idea where that might come from. --Sompeetalay 11:37, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
    • It doesn't even look like CZ-4 was "broken". He may have simply be deactivated for the time. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 19:56, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
      • Exactly. That's what we need to find out if he's really CZ-4. --Sompeetalay 23:54, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
        • He is. Hasbro confirmed it. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 00:20, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
          • Well, what about this :p The Fact Files state that CZ-3 is the disembled Droid in Jabba's dungeon that Threepio notices. This should mean that CZ-4 is the CZ Droid standing in Jabba's Palace. I'm not sure how to interpret Hasbro's backcard. Maybe CZ-4 was also damaged but repaired before the events of 'RotJ'. And then again, Hasbro has been known to make mistakes. On Helrot's back they say Kala'uun is a planet. I wouldn't bet my money on Hasbro on such matters --Sompeetalay 08:40, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
            • Hasrbo has created canon before. And who knows. Maybe both CZ-3 and CZ-4 were in the droid workshop. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 11:02, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
              • Yeah, they sure did, but in this case, the Fact Files mention otherwise. We'll have to wait for Leland Chee to reply. --Sompeetalay 15:17, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
                • What's so hard about accepting that they were both in Jabba's palace's droid workshop? —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 20:06, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
                  • Leland has confirmed that CZ-4 is the broken droid and the CZ unit that can be seen later in the Throne Room. Jack, I will accept anything, as long as it is officially confirmed. On WP one cannot assume. One must be certain. Always better to check twice. --Sompeetalay 14:00, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
  • to everyone asking if he was actually in disrepair in jabba's droid workshop...watch the movie! he's defintiely not just sitting there...he's missing appendages. Unsigned comment by 65.9.23.139 (talk • contribs).

I think Leland Chee or whoever is in charge of this stuff at Hasbro needs to take a moment to watch the film again, and explain exactly why CZ-4 is missing his ENTIRE LOWER BODY and appears to be in a broken and unusable state in the workshop, yet is supposedly then walking upstairs soon after. Either he was reassembled right after C-3PO is ushered off, or these are two seperate droids (which makes more sense).

According to the current article CZ-4 is "resting against a wall" when C-3PO sees him in the dungeon and is startled by the looks of him. "Resting" seems to mean "taking a break" in the text, which seems quite different from the awful state of the droid as clearly seen in the movie (and as stated several times in this thread). His head is "resting" on top of the torso with loose wires hanging out of the hole where his neck would have been. His right arm does not look like it's still attached to its socket, but also "resting" on top of the torso. His legs and left arm seem to be missing. As Hasbro's cardback says "and now the droid lies in pieces in the bowels of the palace until Jabba wants to use him again." I suppose Jabba wanted to use him quite soon after. But although some people have stated in this thread that the droid was upstairs impossibly quickly, there appears to have passed at least a night (full of song and dance, and faked(?) sleeping until the fake Boushh freed Solo). Or did I miss an appearance of CZ-4 before Luke arrived?Joortje (talk) 19:56, September 30, 2019 (UTC)
