Anyone who had read the Dark Nest Trilogy could expand on this. --SparqMan 18:03, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

I suggest taking the part about specifically finding the Charric on Onderon out. I've been playing KOTOR 2 through again, and I found it on Nar Shaddaa. Good job otherwise, though. I've read the DNT and can't find anything else to add. As a matter of fact, I think I've read every book, other than Outbound Flight, concerning the Chiss and I can't add anything, other than in game, the maser beam sometimes knock opponents down and disorients them.--PhilCarr 12:46, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

I've added a bit from the Sambra Chiss article from SW Gamer 6.Tocneppil 20:00, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

shouldn't there be an infobox instead of the statistics heading Asdf1239 01:34, February 15, 2010 (UTC)

this article states that there is a "stun setting...an EM charge tuned to neurological patterns" while the Chiss article says that there is no stun setting. which one is correct, i'm guessing this one ASDF1239Chiss Ascendancy-DISCUSSION- 04:47, May 30, 2010 (UTC)

2.5 Added sources/appearances[]

I added charric's appeareance in Star Wars Galaxies. Source: Star Wars Galaxies Wiki, article about Charric Carbine.

Range and ammo capacity[]

The statement saying that charrics have a shorter range than most, specifically the handgun models, is somewhat....skewed. What I mean by this, is that in the Ultimate Alien Anthology (to my knowledge) we have the only know source of an exact range for a charric bolt. The problem with this, is that its 8 meters; 8 meters for a RIFLE, and not a handgun. The current wording in the article as it is now, is inappropriately sourced to handguns instead of rifles as the UAA cites. Now, this conflicts with a large amount of literature that shows charric bolts as having some sizable range to them, pistol or not. Thoughts and opinions on this? Lightsaber deflection[]

A few times in Visions of the Future, Luke is described as deflecting shots from a Charric with his lightsaber. The first time is on p194 where Luke and Mara are ambushed by a group of Chiss and Mara ends up shot in the shoulder. The weapons had not yet been identified as charrics, but on p319 Admiral Parck states "If we'd know you were coming our people would have been much more careful with their charrics". Later, on pages 337, 339, 342-343 as Luke rescues Mara from Parck, he again is stated to be deflecting fire from the weapons.

These charrics, unlike the ones primarily described in this article, are described as 'hand weapons' (p330, 347) and being stored in holsters (p328) so it may indicate that smaller hand-blaster style charrics can have their fire deflected while larger carbine/rifle style ones cannot.

    • Hi! While this is interesting supposition, it's very well documented that Charrics can't be deflected across several books in different SW series in the old Legends canon. Speaking honestly, SW writers add or change things all the time; it likely has little to do with actual physics and mechanics, and more that writers wanted the charric to be a unique threat later on, so they added the effect. Anyway, it's more or less moot given that Legends isn't "true canon" anymore. Dorian G (talk) 17:09, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
