  • This seems very much lice the Kylo Ren/Darth Caedus thing to me. Two concepts that seem very similar but the Canon version isn't really based on the Legends version. Should we really keep the tabs? I ask because it seems we're implying a connection between these subjects by linking them when there really isn't one. • It's not the same as two similar but ultimately separate characters. This is the same subject. The only reason this is called "Crossguard blade" is because "crossguard lightsaber" hasn't been used in a source yet, which it undoubtedly will. One of these days, the current crossguard lightsaber page will surely be moved to Crossguard lightsaber/Legends. This is worthy of the tabs. We really don't need to keep having the debate over tabs on the crossguard page. These are the same concept, and tabs are helpful for readers. There's nothing but benefits to keeping the tabs. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 22:04, January 15, 2016 (UTC)

And now thanks to SWTOR there are Kylo Ren-style lightsabers also in Legends. JagoAndLitefoot (talk) 06:21, March 12, 2017 (UTC)

Impracticality of design Edit

I think it's worth mentioning how easy it would be for an opponent wielding a lightsabre to cut off the crossguard projectors since they protrude too far from the hilt for the angle and distance of where the two plasma blades are emitted from, to catch an opponent's lightsabre's plasma blade, unless of course they were constructed of a lightsabre resistant material such as beskar. • Unless this information is presented in a source, it would be speculation and cannot be added. Zed42 (talk) 07:53, January 24, 2020 (UTC)
    • Well if my speculation is accurate, then obviously this flaw would have been a fundamental design oversight and would not have been expected to play out in-universe as it would in reality, and I don't think I've read anyone mentioning this before, what are your thoughts regarding this? Freighttrain, The (talk) 07:58, January 24, 2020 (UTC)
      • Its unnecessary information. So I don't think its necessary to add anything--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 08:00, January 24, 2020 (UTC)
        • No I didn't mention anything about adding to the article, I'm asking for people's opinions about this, if they know something already existing in the lore that might redeem the crossguard lightsabre concept. Freighttrain, The (talk) 08:02, January 24, 2020 (UTC)
          • Talk pages aren't for general discussion about the topic. They are for discussing changes related to the article. If you wish to discuss the topic in general feel free to use Discussions--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 08:08, January 24, 2020 (UTC)
            • Ah ok thank you, anyway I personally think it would be much more practical to simply forget about the horizontal emitters and construct the entire crossguard length and vertical emitter out of beskar etc., that way even if the plasma blade were to short out for whatever reason, the crossguard could still be used to defend against lightsabre strikes, even if the increased profile makes it a bit more cumbersome to carry whilst deactivated.
