Publishing era[]
Why are we removing the publishing eras, because on the back of the book the publishing era is written?? --Hafje (talk) 20:34, May 21, 2014 (UTC)
- So far, it appears as though the current continuity is not separated into publishing eras. That can change, but for now, they need to be omitted from canon articles. CC7567 (talk) 20:35, May 21, 2014 (UTC)
Comic in both Canon and Legends[]
While I completely get that any new content starting with A New Dawn will be canon except for the remaining Dark Horse content, and I get that this comic is considered an exception because it is directly adapted from un-produced TCW episodes and has been declared canon. Makes sense. But shouldn't the events, story and places be added to both Canon and Legends for their respective subjects?
I know that this won't be the case for anything else ever, and I'm not saying "all future TCW adaptations should be Legends too", but this seems like a special exception since this comic would have been part of TCW show (which, if produced, would be in both Canon and Legends now), and would have been part of the EU before the change since it is a Dark Horse comic. It would be silly to exclude it from Legends now when it too was in production before the Disney sale and was considered EU before the announcement. Besides, Darth Maul's Legends page has a brief summary of the events of this comic anyways, since it was announced before the EU became Legends - let's just fill it in.
If TCW Season 6 had been released after the Legends announcement, I still think it belonged in Legends as well, as it does now, so this seems no different. All the remaining new Dark Horse content will be added to Legends, so why not include Son of Dathomir in both Canon and Legends as the last new TCW material to also fall in Legends. Besides, it would be nice to include whatever resolution characters like Mother Talzin and Maul get in this in Legends just to close the TCW Legends book once and for all. Otherwise they are just left hanging in the "Legends World" when there's no reason they should be. --TyrannicalFascist (talk) 02:44, May 23, 2014 (UTC)
- I think it's better to leave this as just canon, rather than canon and Legends. Organizationally, it's a much better solution to draw a firm line in the sand and say that the day of the Legends/new canon announcement is the cut-off point; anything released after that is canon only, and not Legends. Otherwise, it opens a can of worms to a whole slew of potential exceptions. For example, I can understanding wanting to add the resolutions of characters like Darth Maul to their Legends counterparts, but the same could be said for any other potential comic adaptation of unproduced TCW episodes. We can't go based on what was announced before the EU became Legends either, because then the entire sequel trilogy, all the spinoff films, Rebels, etc. would be Legends too (though I know you're not suggesting that). So IMO/tldr, canon only. = Brandon Rhea(talk) 23:12, May 23, 2014 (UTC)
Some book series are still finishing up, which means that some new Legends content is still being published. I would say its both Legends and Canon.--AV-6R7 21:01, July 23, 2014 (UTC)
- It's not. If some of its issues had been released before April 25th, we'd consider it Canon and Legends. But the first release of Son of Dathomir didn't happen until nearly a month later. We have to be objective about this, so it's canon-only. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 21:10, July 23, 2014 (UTC)
