For real?[]

Is this a serious planet or some parody? I mean, Douglas? -- Doo Doo 07:48, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

  • The planet obviously is named after someone called "Douglas". Imagine how whimsical it would sound if it was named after your user name. -- Frank V Bonura 12:31, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

Sector Location[]

At the end of chapter 5 of "Lando Calrissian and the Mindharp of Sharu" Lando is making reference to "galactic fauna" not "local fauna" when describing the Jackelope of Douglas III. The sense is one of distant and exotic creatures used for ornamentation of the bar known as the Poly Pyramid on Rafa IV in the Centrality. I strongly suspect both Douglas III and Paulking XIV were wrongly placed in the Centrality and thus correctly belong in the Jospro sector and some other sector distant from the Centrality respectively. I think some mention of this mistake is in order. -- Frank V Bonura 12:27, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

  • "Distant" is POV, and in a Human's sense, even a light-year is quite long. Besides, both the Atlas and TEAOC place it in the Centrality.—TK-999 Era-imp(Rise of the Empire) 12:31, June 3, 2011 (UTC)
  • "Distant" is the word I used, "galactic fauna" is what is printed, in black and white, on page 54 of "Lando Calrissian and the Mindharp of Sharu". In a galaxy capable of interstellar travel, Light years are not much more different than miles on Earth and all the hyperspace jumps in the Centrality are clearly described as "short" or "easy" in the novel. I just want this mistake noted for the benefit of new visitors even if its just on the talk page and not in the article proper. -- Frank V Bonura 13:04, June 3, 2011 (UTC)
    • OK, but we'll need a comment from the authors to specifically say "these systems should not be here". Otherwise, how would you reference this? "I don't think these should be here because the novel says otherwise"? The Essential Atlas is a later source, so the best I could recommend is to contact the authors at essential.atlas@gmail.com and ask them to clarify this. If they admit that they were wrong, then you could ask Dan to make a blog post on his StarWars.com blog, which can then be referenced. Cheers!—TK-999 Era-imp(Rise of the Empire) 13:27, June 3, 2011 (UTC)
    • Outstanding idea, I will see to that. Might not be a bad Idea to ask Lester Neil Smith as well. -- Frank V Bonura 13:34, June 3, 2011 (UTC)
