There is No Possible WayEdit

  • There is no way that B-wing or A-wing fighters could have been involved in this battle. No way at all. R-22 Spearheads, sure, but not A-wings and definitely 'not B-wings. Atarumaster88 19:10, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
  • What sources have A-wings and B-wings? The A-wings can easily be explained as R-22s, but the B-wings, what is their design-history again? VT-16 21:56, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
    • i removed B-Wings, there not around then. simple. Jedi Dude 22:13, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
      • Might've been the H-60 Tempest bomber pictured in Star Wars: Complete Locations. —Silly Dan (talk) 04:54, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
        • Could have been that, but B-wings look more distinct from H-60s than A-wings do from R-22s. Hmm, wonder if that might have been the same reason for putting both designs in the Massassi Temple in the DK books, to explain any sighting of both A-wings and B-wings in that time-frame. VT-16 09:49, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
            • I'll remove the disputed tag now that the problem seems to have been fixed. Thanks. Atarumaster88 14:32, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Executor? Edit

What source shows that the Executor was in the battle? I didn't think it was built until well after the battles of Yavin 4. Jorrel Fraajic 03:29, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

  • It was under final stages of construction at Fondor, according to the Classic Star Wars series of comics, which had Luke travel to Fondor's shipyards in an attempt to sabotage the construction. Then Vader took it on a test-run on a couple of small Rebel targets before showing up at Yavin just as the Rebels were in the final stages of evacuation. Vrad Dodonna gave his life in a kamikaze attack on the Executor using a ship equipped with an ancient Power Gem which apparently was used in the far distant past to pierce the shields of unsuspecting ships.Tocneppil 08:35, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

House of TaggeEdit

Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds confirms that forces of the House of Tagge were involved in the battle, contributing to the infighting that allowed the Rebels to escape. (Incidentally, so were the forces of Nox Vellam.) jSarek 16:08, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Whoops. Sorry about that. The bit about Orman Tagge being present and waiting to fight Luke was what was wrong. Orman was dead by that point. But I guess I took too much out. I'll fix it! --JMM 16:59, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
    • Cool. It's been a little while since I've read that part of the Marvels, so I couldn't remember just how much was appropriate to re-add. jSarek 17:37, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
      • Just remember that in any Marvel issue before The Empire Strikes Back adaptation (issue #39), the Rebels are still on Yavin 4. --JMM 17:58, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

Second InfoboxEdit

Hmm I noticed that in two of the five Battle of Yavin pages, there were two infoboxes. However, the second infoboxes were causing bugs that messed up how pictures were displayed. I fixed this by added the infobox to the end of the code in the article. I then went about added the second infobox to two of the other pages in the same way. However, when I tried to do it the same way here, it (logically) appeared separated from the rest of the infoboxes. So I tried to put it where it would end (in The Battle section), but this cause the text to be displayed under the image there. Anyone have a way to fix this? Merge to Blockade article?Edit

Since the merge tag on Blockade of Yavin keeps getting removed, I figured I would reopen the discussion. It's not necessary to have this article; the relevant information can be merged to that article and this can be redirected to Third Battle of Yavin 4. Redundant information need not be repeated in messy articles. Corellian PremierRobotechAll along the watchtower 21:46, August 9, 2012 (UTC)

Nevermind --Sith my ride's Return (talk) 22:02, August 9, 2012 (UTC)

  • Corell, I actually didn't intend to remove the merge tag. I was reloading the infobox and it got overwritten. However, I don't think the Evacuation should be merged to the Blockade. It's the the final battle of a six-month campaign, and it deserves its own article. There is an issue, though—much of this article should be moved to the Blockade article. The only "Seige" and "Undercover missions" don't belong here. I'm going to take a look at the other Battles, and see if I can't merge them. • Alright, I've dealt with the Blockade and Evacuation mixup. However, the Third Battle of Yavin cannot be merged with the Evacuation, unfortunately. The Executor isn't present, so it can't be the Evacuation. Cade Calrayn StupidRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit 23:28, August 9, 2012 (UTC)
      • Ah, perfect, thanks. So regarding the Third Battle, how do we square the fact that it is an evacuation, yet Dodonna manages to escape when other sources stipulates he did not? Corellian PremierRobotechAll along the watchtower 23:37, August 9, 2012 (UTC)
