Eight?[]

There were eight major routes? I've only counted five: Perlemian, Hydian, Rimma, and the Corellian Run and Trade Spine. Am I missing some? -- SFH 18:17, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

  • Well, the Salin Corridor is said to be one of the largest in the Outer Rim, so that's probably supposed to be one. And since the Leisure Corridor goes from Coruscant to the Outer Rim, that's probably pretty major too. But nowhere have I seen either of those (or any others) explicitly termed "major." I suspect whoever came up with the figure of eight was keeping their options open. Also, the definition of "major" likely changed with time, except in the case of the 5 you mentioned, which seem to have been considered major for millennia. Gonk 21:21, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

In the major routes section it says the Corellian Run ends near Rothana. Rothana on the map I look at is shown at T-15 where the Run ends near S-18. I believe it should say Naos or Smugglers Run. DRM 12:52, 17 Feb 2015

probing for cited information[]

The first edition of Galaxy Guide 3: The Empire Strikes Back is cited as saying probe droids were stationed at at hyper-points (this single detail was added to the existing text in a 2007 edit). However, I can only find information about probe droids on pages 7–9 of this book, where—aside from their Imperial use in seeking the Rebellion—the only stated uses are mapping and mining exploration. Does anyone know where their deployment at hyper-points is documented? Thanks. Asithol (talk) 23:56, March 8, 2017 (UTC)

  • You're right, the source doesn't features such information (and the referencing wasn't properly discrimanating toward what wasn't supposed to be included in the source). Howerver, the second edition of the guide does features such information on p.9: "Since deep-space exploration was put on hold by the Empire, probe droids were retooled and reprogrammed for search and patrol missions. Many droids were posted along the perimeters of key strategic systems or hyperspace routes, serving as automated guardians.". I updated the referencing.
