Ok, you've done a lot more than me, so I guess I can do the plot summary, while you try to work on the redlinks. Sound good to you?--Erl 12:08, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

  • Gee, I hate redlinks, but if I can find them in the book again, then yes I'll start doing them. --Xwing328 21:59, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
    • Hi Guys, if I'm not stepping on toes, I'll see what I can find to help fix the redlinks. I can also work on the Dramatis Personae and see if I can bulk it up a bit. It looks like you guys have taken care of quite a bit already, though. SonofNils 15:17, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
      • Thanks for your help. It feels like we just hit a wall and stopped. --Xwing328 17:58, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

Preceding lit? Edit

It's been recently added that The Rising Force is preceded by the Stark Hyperspace War series. I haven't read the SHW series, but the Rising Force is written as the very beginning of Obi-wan's adventures. In the SHW series, isn't he already Qui-gon's apprentice? SonofNils 21:12, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

  • I don't know. I asked a similar question here - Template talk:Infobox Book. Darth Bane: Path of Destruction says it is followed by The Rising Force, so maybe we should put Path of Destruction in the "Preceded by" part. --Xwing328 23:12, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
  • It can't be preceded by SHW, since that comic is set a year after this book. Kuralyov 23:14, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Then the Rise of the Empire era list is wrong. --Xwing328 23:27, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
  • I made a couple modifications to the Rise of the Empire era list, based on some info I managed to scrape up. Dark Horse comics places the Stark Hyperspace War at 44 BBY. So that seems like a pretty solid date. Book 1 and 2 of Jedi Apprentice both feature a 12-year-old Obi-Wan (just prior to and leading up to his 13th b-day). In book 3, he's 13. In an interview with Jude Watson on, she says: "They take place about ten years before The Phantom Menace and focus on the apprenticeship of thirteen-year-old Obi-Wan Kenobi, who studies under Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn." That's as close to a source as I've been able to find so far, but if taken literally would mean that the books take place in 42 BBY. That can't be right. I assume we have to assume the emphasis to be heavily on the about in "about 10 years" SonofNils 10:05, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
    • The dates have been messed up for Stark Hyperspace War, IIRC. But it seems foolish IMO to have Path of Destruction as the preceding novel, as it was like a thousand years prior. -LtNOWIS 23:12, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
      • Technically, I suppose Parts 1 and 2 of Legacy of the Jedi would precede The Rising Force; however, I'm not sure there are any other stories (excluding comics?) that would be set in the empty years. - SonofNils 00:27, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

Tone Edit

This article needs to be more concise and not simply a rehash of the novel. --Katana Geldar 05:49, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Issues! Edit

I would like to ask what the heck the source is for this book taking place in 45 BBY. The best argument I can think of, and one that I think can only be refuted by simply labeling it "conflicting sources", is this: Mace Windu is on the Council in this book. He joined the Council when he was 28. He was born in 72 BBY. To make sure I wasn't doing the math wrong, I actually went and made a timeline, showing his age in comparison with Obi-Wan's, and the years and all that. The purple is Mace, and the blue is Obi. The red is just to highlight the year 44 BBY, which is when this book had to actually happen, for the simple reason that MACE WINDU WAS NOT 28 IN 45 BBY! (I'm sorry that the timeline looks rather odd, but I was sort of in a hurry.) Here it is: [1]

If you check, I think you'll find that it's all correct and that this book COULD NOT have happened in 45 BBY, unless we just say that it was a mistake and we'll put in it 45 BBY anyway. (I won't even go into the fact that the book says that Mace Windu was a Senior Councilor mere weeks after he joined the Council. THAT we can write off as a dumb mistake caused by lack of research.)

So unless someone has a good argument for this book happening in 45 BBY - such as a G-canon or C-canon source that explicitly says so - could someone please change the dates on this, and Jedi Apprentice: The Dark Rival, from 45 BBY to 44 BBY? Thank you! --Crazy Jedi Girl 07:39, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Never mind, I've changed it myself. --Crazy Jedi Girl 06:18, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

Objects on this article Edit

This is just silly, expecting an article to be for bench, envelope etc. That's why there's so many redlinks! I vote we purge a lot of them! Katana Geldar 15:18, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

  • Another goofy one is "Oversized blaster file". 'Oversized' is used as an adjective, not stating a weapon class called Oversized. --Clonehunter(Report your W.M.D.) 23:46, August 3, 2013 (UTC)

Some Changes Edit

Well, I changed the tense issue, now to move on to getting rid of a lot of those redlinks. Like Katana said, a lot of them are just unnecessary, so I'll just delete 'em. Qui-Gon Reborn 07:39, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Since you did that can we remove the 'excess of redlinks' tag on the page?-- 02:30, September 4, 2012 (UTC)

  • First, please note the timestamp. That message is four years old and dead topics shouldn't be posted in. Next, please look at the Appearances, there are plenty of redlinks and the template is justified. Why not be BOLD, if you have the book? NaruHina Talk Anakinsolo 09:49, September 4, 2012 (UTC)

Improving Edit

Is the article just going to stop on the plot as it is, or do we want to add more? -- 03:53, May 20, 2013 (UTC)
