Whinging SanctuaryEdit

  • Oh dear ... this will turn out to be a pure EU book. To be honest, I would have preferred another author. --Sompeetalay 06:49, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
    • Gee, you'd think they'd get to the New Planets and Moons or an atlas before making new Essential topics. -- Riffsyphon1024 08:21, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
      • It's possible this is a loose tie-in to the big Force Unleashed media blitz, considering the subject matter. Hopefully we'll be getting Planets and Moons or similar once that dies down - \\Captain Kwenn// Ahoy! 08:41, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
        • Ah I should have known. -- Riffsyphon1024 09:07, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
          • I don't know whats worse, the fact that they're making this book, the fact that I don't want to get it, or the fact that, despite myself, I'm still gonna plonk down $40 bucks for it in November. TIEPilot051999 00:59, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
            • I agree. On with NEGPM!--The All-knowing Sith'ari 20:58, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
              • Personally, I can't wait. Finally we'll be able to purge the Dark and Light side of the Force articles of their fanon and assumptions, as well as source Force-related topics beyond "This is my impression of X, therefore I will write Y". DarthMRN 16:05, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

No Legacy stuff at allEdit

  • This article is wrong. There are no references to the Imperial Knights in the book, to my great disappointment. Lies! - 10:42, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Individuals Edit

Are the individuals listed in the article the only ones that will show up in the book? Because I sure would like to see new info and pics of people like Revan, Mace Windu, Malak, Darth Caedus, and such.--Zhran 03:15, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

  • I believe the individuals in the article are the characters that we know will be in there, from looking at the preview on (however, I haven't looked yet). As far as I know, there's nothing saying someone else won't be in there as well. Hobbes15(Tiger Headquarters) 03:28, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
  • I surely hope this isn't the real index of the book. It just looks like a simple rehash of the Wizards of the Coast books about the Jedi & the Dark Side. I want new information, not information that is copied from another book. If I want that, I can just read that book again. --Sompeetalay 09:31, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

Release DateEdit

The calendar says this Tuesday, the page says in two weeks. Which is correct? TIEPilot051999 01:20, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

  • I guess it's november 17 but then again, some bookstores may always have it a bit earlier. --Sompeetalay 12:48, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
    • November 17th was yesterday. And unless all their copies sold out, nowhere I went had it. TIEPilot051999 16:23, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
      • Djees, sorry, I meant 27 ! But my fellow administrator of Yodapedia already has been able to get the book! The Essential Guide to the Force on Yodapedia --Sompeetalay 15:10, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
        • Well, according to a net search, a Chapters at Langley has two copies, obviously not for sale yet...I don't think. So that's seems pretty much proof positive that it's getting released tomorrow. TIEPilot051999 21:45, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Tionne SolusarEdit

Ok if this is an In-Universe book written by Tionne Solusar, how is it going to include any of the Legacy comic stuff??? And I know it will because it has images of Krayt and Talon. I'm so confused...Dark Lord Trayus 23:32, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

  • Me too. They'll probably (fornication) it up and give some lame retcon for it. DAWUSS 02:31, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
    • There is a short afterward by another historian. -- Ozzel 02:36, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Time line Edit

So far I've noticed a discrepancy the time line, it places Quinlan Vos' undercover hunt for Darth Andeddu's Holocron a year before AOTC, when in fact its 7 1/2 months after... Adamqd 17:35, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Can you put a gallery of the book?--Cade skywalker 19:29, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

  • No, we have made a decision not to do this out of respect for the copyright holder, and we are in the process of eliminating other book galleries as well. -- Ozzel 03:33, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

But that's not fair! C'mon, it's Christmas time! At least, make the gallery a Christmas present sometime, will ya? - Will Karner 7:46 A.M., 6 December 2007

  • No. Please remember to sign your posts properly by adding four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your message. --Imperialles 14:35, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Twi'lek braidEdit

Did anyone else notice that the Padawan in the Council chamber pic on page 69 ha a Padawn braid on his chin. I dont know if I am seeing it wrong or not but I cant see it as anything but. Purpilia 03:31, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

  • HAHA You're right! I never would have noticed that otherwise! If you think about it, Twi'lek's don't have any hair to speak of, so other than braiding their lekku, twi'lek padawans need Something to braid!--ForceWound 23:56, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

pictures Edit

I think we should start posting pictures of the sections in their respective articles

  • No. QuentinGeorge 21:32, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
  • Or... how about you scan the pics, host them on your own website, so that you can be held accountable for the inevitable copyright infringement. (rolleyes)--ForceWound 21:34, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

I found a couple of mistakes in the pictures. On page 42, Vergere clearly has normal knees rather than her previously documented reverse-articulated knees. Also, on page 46, you can see Jacen at Mara's funeral in the far right of the picture, to Luke's left, and Mara's body still on the bier. However, when Jacen arrived at the funeral Mara became one with the force and disappeared. What's is up with these obvious mistakes? Micah Giett 02:28, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Narratives Edit

I am a bit confused about the source of narratives. Page 12 says 'All narratives are drawn from the Great Holocron, the Asli Krimsan Holocron, and recording of the Tedryn Holocron except where noted.' In my understanding, any single unnoted record comes from one of the three holocron. So Luke's, Chilgal's, Streen's etc. records are also from one of them. What about previous records. Sometimes the book says it was recorded 4 ABY or so, when they don't have holodrons. Could they be considered to be copied later to a holcron?

If a narration of an author is noted as from the Tedryn Holocron, all other narration of the same author are considered form the same source?

Arce has a recording about Nadd on page 17. This doesn't specify a source so should be from one of the three holocrons above. But other Wookiee articles say Tionne had Arca's Holocron. Isn't it strange to have recording in two separate holocrons.

I would like to add the unnoted narrations to every three holocrons, as possible content. May I do it? Darth Morrt 10:04, November 15, 2009 (UTC)
