That cover = Rise, Jacen Solo, Dark Lord of the Sith. :) QuentinGeorge 02:19, 5 Nov 2005 (UTC)

  • Is that a confirmed fact, or merely your speculation? -- SFH 02:21, 5 Nov 2005 (UTC)
    • Totally uncofirmed speculation and silliness on my part. Hence the " :) " . QuentinGeorge 02:24, 5 Nov 2005 (UTC)
  • That's a relief, but it wouldn't suprise me if Jacen should fall. His current situation with Tenel and Baby Solo (who I think they'll name Padme) is seeming a little to similar to his grandfather...and to think everyone expected Anakin or Jaina to fall. -- SFH 02:28, 5 Nov 2005 (UTC)
  • Wouldn't Jacen be a jedi master by this time?

Im going for Ben Skywalker falling to the darkside. that would be very devastating for luke, mara, and jacen, as ben is potentially could become more powerful than all of them.

Hey, Baby Solo - Jacen & Tenel's kid - is supposed to be called Allanna, or Allana. Something like that. Screams 'Dathomiri' to me.

  • Yeah, I know. I've been eating major crow for the last couple of days (takes a bite)...actually tastes pretty good. -- SFH 16:55, 23 Dec 2005 (UTC)

"Determined to root out those behind the mayhem, Jacen follows a trail of cryptic clues to a dark rendezvous with the most shocking of revelations... while Luke grapples with something even more troubling: dream visions of a shadowy figure whose force power and ruthlessness remind him of Darth Vader—a lethal enemy who strikes like a dark spirit on a mission of doom. An agent of evil who, if Luke's visions come to pass, will bring untold pain to the Jedi Master... and to the entire Galaxy." Definately talking about Lumiya. no doubt about it.

  • How can you be so sure? I mean, you're probably right, but how can you tell so soon? Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 12:10, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
    • all the facts and descriptions seem to point toward this.
      • That doesn't mean it's Lumiya, though. Admiral J. Nebulax (talk) 21:13, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
        • Jack is right. I've read the book. It's not Lumiya. Doran 17:05, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
  • hahab it is Jacen.......does no one understand..vergere was a sisth, she died passing her mantle onot Jacen, Lumiya merly informs jacen of this. Jedi Dude
    • I am hoping Ben helps Jacen realize the error of his ways and redeems him. Though the very idea of Jacen being able to topple Luke is very much laughable. Though who knows. DarthMalus 06:38, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
      • Nerdgasm!!! I can't wait to read this friggin' book. User:RushinSundaws 10:41, 24 May 2006
  • Hahaha it was Lumiya!
    • Um... no, it wasn't... it was Jacen himself. -- Doran 23:04, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

NewsEdit

I found a link to StarWars.com Blogs which provides information on the book including the Dramatis Personae. Among them are Thrackan Sal-Solo, Tycho Celchu, Cal Omas and Gilad Pellaeon. I also foundan excerpt from the book on that site. Should I add the characters in to the article? Should we trust them? MyNz 14:53, 4 Dec 2005 (UTC)

  • Yes, that's Sue Rostoni, part of LucasFilm. And I've just added the dramatis personae, which Sue mentioned is currently incomplete - she'll be adding a few more characters at a later date. Hopefully Leia won't be left off the list indefinately - Kwenn 09:57, 4 Jan 2006 (UTC)
  • OK... Is the correct spelling Lysa Dunter or Lysa Duntier? Some anonymous person changed it to Duntier and I made a page for it... And then realized that it was probably a misspelling. Lysa Duntier now redirects to Lysa Dunter. Breathesgelatin 09:54, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
    • It's definitely Lysa Dunter in the book. Doran 18:07, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Pellaeon Edit

This guy is STILL an admiral in the Navy? He's in his mid-90s as of the Dark Nest, he should be very close to 100 by the time of this book! Danik Kreldin 04:07, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

  • Del Rey just doesn't want to kill the old bugger yet - surprising, since they've offed Mon Mothma and Gial Ackbar, who were both younger. QuentinGeorge 04:09, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
  • Guess all that fan mail after Vector Prime and The New Jedi Order: Star by Star probably made them a little cautious. -- SFH 04:25, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
  • Duke Teta from the Teta system was around 300 in 19 BBY, thanks to extensive surgery and body theraphy. He was rich though, but I think Pellaeon could afford a similar treatment. Then there's the increase in RL life-spans, could be more dramatic in a highly advanced civilization like the GFFA. VT-16 10:53, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
    • Hey, they don't call him "The Old Man of the Empire" for nothing. Admiral J. Nebulax 21:14, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
    • It's still weird though, given a bunch of other characters passed away due to natural causes and were younger and arguably more influential than Pellaeon, if were to say that they could get a treatment such as Duke Teta's, like Mon Mothma or Ackbar. Who else has died from old age in the EU? -Danik Kreldin 21:17, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
      • Well, keep in mind that we don't know the average life-expectancy. Admiral J. Nebulax 21:18, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
        • That, and some people might just choose to let nature take its course, having lived long enough. I think General Dodonna went out this way. VT-16 21:27, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
          • True. Admiral J. Nebulax 21:28, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
            • When did Dodonna die, anyway? Admiral J. Nebulax 00:55, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
              • You do know what kind of site you're on, right? ;P
He passed away ~24 ABY:
Shortly afterward, Dodonna returned to retirement, settling on New Alderaan, where he peacefully passed away prior to the start of the Yuuzhan Vong War.
  • Yeah, I know, but I had to get off at the time I asked. Admiral J. Nebulax 21:24, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
  • Bear in mind that in Dark Nest Leia tells Han he'll probably live to be 100/110. So Pellaeon might have a few years yet, or the next time his ship makes a hyperjump he'll suffer cardiac arrest. YIIMM 18:25, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

Darth Edit

I'm thinking that the Darth Vader character could be Anakin Solo. Lucas did confirm that he'd make an appearance some how, so I'm hopeing that a clone or something was made of him. Jacen Solo PS. Question: If a clone of Anakin WAS made, would he be like the real Anakin? And as such, like having their brother back? Jacen Solo 22:42, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

  • that same line of thought lead me to this revision in my fan-film screenplay.(aka they killed him off while i was writing them.)to see how that work go here:

Ep7ADF on Yakface

Ep7ADF on Jedi Defender

Ep7ADF on The Custom Alliance

Ep7ADF on Rebelscum

CenterpointEdit

Centerpoint thinks its Anakin Solo? Is that true? -- SFH 01:52, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Release Date Edit

Hmmm... I know the release date says May 30th, but for some reason, yesterday, I got a call from my bookstore saying "Hey, this book arrived, want to pick it up?" So now I'm holding Betrayal in my hand as I type this (with one hand... it's hard) thinking, Not that I care much, but why did I recieve this two full weeks early?? Doran 15:29, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

  • Care to fill us in on what happens? Kuralyov 15:31, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
  • And does Centerpoint really think it's Anakin Solo? -- SFH 15:32, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
    • I got in terrible trouble pulling some spoilers on TFN. What's the spoiler policy here? Doran 22:09, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
    • Oh... there isn't one...
    • SFH, there is a four meter tall droid in control of Centerpoint that thinks it's Anakin, so yes, you're correct. Other than that, I don't really want to reveal what else happens. It's better reading it, for sure. Doran 23:06, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Oh, great. That's just what we need. It's a sentient superweapon. It can cause stars to supernova. It thinks it's a guilt-ridden, emotionally traumatized fifteen year old. Kiss the Core goobye. -- SFH 16:34, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Have the Sith shown up yet? If so, are they done cheesy or written well?

  • Sith are not done cheesy. I've finished it, by the way. SFH, Ben convinced the Anakin droid to shut Centerpoint down. All's well. Doran 14:34, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Thank the Force. -- SFH 15:29, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Well... not all is well. I shouldn't say that. Jacen is an idiot... Doran 17:03, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
  • As long as nothing is going to nova I am comfortable with Jacen being an idiot...I swear if Del Rey destroys one more planet...-- SFH 17:48, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

But a destroyed planet = a future villian or issue. Del Ray is just planning for the future =P

  • I had my fill of destroyed planets after Dark Tide II, thank you. -- SFH 18:36, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
    • Luckily, Centerpoint is shut down way before something happens... Doran 21:55, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

Dramatis Personae Edit

I've made a recent change to the Dramatis Personae. The way it is now is exactly how it appears in the book. I can even scan it to prove it, if need be. Doran 17:14, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

  • Somebody removed Syal Antilles. Both her and her "alias" appear seperately in the book. Isn't that how they should appear here? Doran 21:41, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Who's the "human woman, dark skinned, with big eyes that looked bright and uncritical enough to belong to someone much younger" that questions Syal after she shoots the Correllian chief mechanic? The woman claims to have flown with Wedge for a few months after the battle of Coruscant, which if I'm not mistaken means she either joined Rogue Squadron during the Bacta War, or is an early member of Wraith Squadron. PS sorry I'm a wiki newb and I have no idea how to format my name so it appears like in the above comments
    • Could be Shalla Nelprin, "Gara Petothel" (although she operates Donoslane Excursions with Myn), Inyri Forge, Rhysati Ynr, or Elscol Loro. Too many to tell, I think, at this point. I'd bet it'd be a character Allston created. Doran 19:55, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
    • Although, if we're taking bets, I'm betting on Shalla. :) Doran
    • It is indeed Shalla Nelprin. She's the only dark-skinned member of Wraith Squadron. -thor-

The list appears complete to me; do we need the 'listdev' tag on it? Eniad (Boring conversation anyway.) 14:47, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

So who else has read the bookEdit

its so good, i got it yesterday. finsihed now. fantastic. and after all the hype about the stuff we wrote being fanon and its true. ha. Jedi Dude

  • Fortunately it was only the summary that was bad. It was executed more smoothly than I had dreamed was possible based on the SuperShadowish nature of the spoilers. The whole fake-Ben vs. real-Mara and real-Ben vs. fake-Mara thing sounded like it was straight out of "Episode IX" until I read the actual book. Now I'm actually sorry that my personal principles prevent me from buying Legacy of the Force: Bloodlines. -- Darth Culator 16:40, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
    • Personal principles? But anyways, I have it on reserve at the library and am eagerly awaiitng it, although truth be told, not as much as Legacy. Kuralyov 16:48, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
      • I cannot in good conscience pay money to a person who insults her fanbase and acts like a total raving lunatic. To the best of my knowledge, no other Star Wars author has done this, at least not publically. -- Darth Culator 17:03, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
        • I agree with you 100% there. Kuralyov 02:16, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
  • I'm not getting it. The whole thing sounds like the Separatist Crisis 2.0, and that scene on Vectivus' asteroid sounds way too familiar. -- SFH 02:23, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
    • Don't judge a book by its spoilers. I thought it was excellent. . . . just read it in borders or something :P Rhysode 09:16, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
      • Agreement with Rhysode. None of these spoilers do it justice. I bought the book so I'd have something else to read, primarily, and got a good book. Doran 16:43, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
  • Culator and Kuralyov: while I agree with not shelling out money to Traviss, if by chance you like the book (I'll wait until I hear some feedback before wasting time on it, myself), and want a copy if only to fill the space in your bookshelf, there's always used copies. Since they've been purchased already, it's not an extra sale. - Lord Hydronium 09:25, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Homage?Edit

"The future, as Yoda had said so frequently and famously that the quoatation littered the Jedi archives, was always in motion......" Is this a veiled reference to us? Lonnyd 20:40, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

For that matter, what about "...We're OK, Han shot first...". I also got a good laugh about the part regarding Aayla Secura slash fanfics.Anon80--204.76.128.217 03:14, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Spoilers STILL??Edit

Why hasn't the spoilers template been removed from this article yet?!? Unsigned comment by Totema1 (talk • contribs).

  • It hasn't even been out for 2 weeks. -- Ozzel 00:21, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Gorvan? Edit

So, are Gorvan Peel and Gorvan Deel different characters? Because they're both linked from this article. -LtNOWIS 00:56, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

Chronology? Edit

The timeline says that this booke takes place at 40aby, but in Bloodlines, Boba Fett is said to be 68 years old. That would place this book at 38aby (assuming that Boba Fett was nine in AotC). Admiral_Kaje 19:58, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

    • There are a numbwer of chronological errors in Betrayal, such as Zekk's age, these are due, I believe, to the chronological setting of the story being pushed back 2 years. HavetStorm 19:08, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
      • Boba's actually 10 in AotC, though in Bloodlines, he states (twice!) he was 13 at this time :| - Kwenn 19:10, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

How could Boba possibly be 10? The clones weren't ordered until, at least, a couple of months after The Phantom Menace. He would have been born roughly one year after, which is nine years before Attack of the Clones. Can anybody list all the Chrono cites? it would be nice to have a solid date for these things. We all know that even official sources can be questionable. Admiral_Kaje 19:40, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

Audio Version Edit

Marc Thompson did the audio, not J. Davis, just a heads up. I'm new here and not sure how to edit and I don't want to mess up the main page.

japanese cover artEdit

anybody know when we can expect this? i mean theforce.net appears to have given up on these. you guys are the only place i seem to find new ones nowadays. Darth Depressis

  • I was just about to ask that. I gues we don't absolutely need them, but they always have more characters and more stuff on their covors. They're really good for certain characters articles too. I hope we can get some soon. JediNTT307 21:06, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

cover Edit

Is that supposed to be Jacen on the cover or someone else?--67.84.168.2 18:56, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

New Continuity Edit

A number of previously existing characters- most notably Corran Horn and Anakin Skywalker- are listed as "New Continuity". I would fix it, but I don't have time. 68.164.200.167 04:23, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

  • Yes, it's stupid. Vader is listed as new continuity. That section is useless anyway—you can just use {{1st}} in Appearanes. I'll work on this, and get a complete list of appearances. Might take a while though. SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is a lie) 10:36, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Early forms of the Cover Edit

I kinda like version c better than the one the picked. what about you guys? jedi_master425

Luke's vision Edit

Does anybody know what Luke's vision of Han, Leia and the Mynock meant? I just noticed this after re-reading the book for the fourth time (yes, I know, I'm such a nerd).

For the Mynock, I figured it was about the Sith revelations Jacen received at the time and that this caused some kind of Force effect, which Luke sensed. I really don't know what Leia's and especially Han's parts are about though. I don't remember what the page numbers were, but Leia says something like "dark dark dark I will not be afraid of the dark" and Han stabs a woman in the back, saying "I loved you in my own way. I would have repaired all the damage I did to you."

So, anybody understand this? 84.195.177.192 19:38, November 23, 2011 (UTC)
