Empire Strikes Back appearance?[]
This article's claim that Luke used this technology to scan for life forms on Dagobah is unsupported by either the film or novelization. While we do know that Luke scanned Dagobah for life forms, we don't know whether it was with a lifeform scanner, a life form indicator, or some as-yet-undocumented piece of technology.
