To anyone who owns Thrawn

What is up with Captain being lower than Lieutenant Commander? Can anyone clarify what's going on in Thrawn (novel)? Jaewade (talk) 11:42, September 23, 2017 (UTC)

  • What exactly do you want us to tell you? There's nothing to clarify. "[Eli] might end up a captain, possibly even a lieutenant commander; but he would always be standing in the shadow of a full commander, an admiral, or a grand admiral." The hierarchy is pretty clear here. --Lelal Mekha The Uprising crest (Audience Room) 12:05, September 23, 2017 (UTC)
    • I always thought IRL Lieutenant-Lieutenant Commander-Commander-Captain-Rear Admiral-Vice Admiral-Admiral was the correct hierarchy for the navy. Or am I just wrong with IRL navy ranks? (edit) Another reason I'm confused is because if LC is higher than Captain, that makes Ezra Bridger Hera Syndulla's superior in the current timeline. Jaewade (talk) 16:27, September 26, 2017 (UTC)
      • IRL is irrelevant, though. And a Captain being lower than a Lieutenant Commander is only true (as far as we know) in the Imperial Navy, so it has nothing to do with Ezra. --Lelal Mekha The Uprising crest (Audience Room) 17:02, September 26, 2017 (UTC)
        • Thanks, I understand now. Though it's still a strange decision for Timothy to make LC more superior. Jaewade (talk) 15:12, September 27, 2017 (UTC)
