In-joke to Fifth Element? Mandalorian/Mangalore? Edit

Hmm, that caught my eye - the similarity of "Mandalorian" in Star Wars and "Mangalore" from Fifth Element? Does anyone know if Lucas (or whoever) was intentionally making a nod to film? Jimw338 (talk) 15:17, February 3, 2017 (UTC)

Mandalorian Race? Edit

In the new canon are the Mandalorians only human? Unsigned comment by 66.229.216.15 (talk • contribs).

  • No. https://twitter.com/missingwords/status/847172960775315456
    • "The Mandalore system encompasses a lot of worlds so it's probably not a safe assumption that ALL "Mandalorians" are human." - Matt Martin, Lucasfilm Storygroup. Unsigned comment by KainrykKarr (talk • contribs).
      • However, the majority of Mandalorian warriors, which are arguably the most well known and recognizable Mandalorian group, are primarily human due to their customs (including armor), and history, as Mandalorian warrior society was founded by Mandalore the First, a human(oid).Unsigned comment by 97.121.169.232 (talk • contribs).

Friends Like These Edit

As I was searching through Star Wars: Friends Like These, I found a lot of Canon source materials in it. So in this case, should we then start adding info from it to here?

There's the link there. I just want go over this before doing anything. Unsigned comment by Halo1091 (talk • contribs).

Sheer Fecklessness Edit

Rambling scree of little value. This is poorly written: many words conveying not much. It is repetitious repeating itself saying the same things repeatedly in repetition. Shame on you Fecklesshighlighted (talk) 19:48, November 28, 2019 (UTC)

  • Sorry you feel that way, any chance you could give some specifics? You're more than welcome to help improve the page if you think it needs it --Lewisr (talk) 19:57, November 28, 2019 (UTC)
    • Indeed. If you want to have a go, by all means do. Nobody likes a Monday morning quarterback. --Lelal Mekha The Uprising crest (Audience Room) 13:29, November 29, 2019 (UTC)

Human Edit

Chapter 8 of The Mandalorian clearly states that Mandalorians are not a race, which is proven when they accept the Child into one of their newly-formed clans as a foundling, so I believe we should remove any wording in this article that suggest they are a "distinct human" people. Thoughts? GokūBlack10 (Talk) 21:51, December 28, 2019 (UTC)

  • I agree, its made pretty clear that Mandalorians are a culture or creed as the Mando put it rather than a race of humans --Lewisr (talk) 21:58, December 28, 2019 (UTC)
  • I agree, "Mandalorian isn't a race" - Cara Dune, "It's a Creed" - Din Djarin aka The Mandalorian 81.101.62.22 05:14, December 30, 2019 (UTC)

Image Edit

Why change to Mythosaur? --Goodmind (talk) 00:01, January 5, 2020 (UTC)

Religion vs Organization Edit

I suggest to keep it separate like Legends has Mandalorian religion as separate article. Why it was changed to Template:Religion? --Goodmind (talk) 00:32, January 5, 2020 (UTC)

  • Example: New Mandalorians are still Mandalorians, but they don't treat Darksaber as artifact --Goodmind (talk) 00:37, January 5, 2020 (UTC)
    • I think the infobox should be changed to organization, and then just have a section detailing the Mandalorian religion --Lewisr (talk) 00:41, January 5, 2020 (UTC)
