As if the confusion with the Mrissi isn't enough, The Essential Guide to Alien Species and Wizards of the Coast spell the species name Mrlssi, while West End Games used Mrlssti. Silly Dan 13:34, 7 May 2005 (UTC)

  • The Encyc also calls them Mrlssi, and cites the X-Wing comics; I'm guessing the comics also use the "t"-less spelling. JSarek 21:29, 7 May 2005 (UTC)
    • Does the Encyc even mention the Mrissi, I wonder (asks Silly Dan, not bothering to log in)?
      • No, but it does mention Mrisst and its natives (the Encyc does that a lot, mentioning the planet then discussing the native species in the entry for that planet). JSarek 22:03, 7 May 2005 (UTC)
    • Also, for what it's worth, the Mrlssi are said to be about 1 meter tall in newer references, though West End said they were only half a meter tall. Silly Dan 13:50, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I beleive that the 2 species were originally intended to be the same species adn somehow due to errors and more than one writers ended up beign sperated. Ralok 04:46, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Contradictory DatesEdit

  1. The Essential Guide to Planets and Moons and The Essential Guide to Alien Species say nothing.
  2. Alien Encounters says "7000 years ago".
  3. Player's Guide to Tapani and Lords of the Expanse say the same in their aliens sections, while the history sections place it in the latter part of the Twelve Kingdoms Era, which ended in 5372 in the Tapani Sector calendar. That book gives the "present date" as 12,724 in the Tapani calendar, and says that 35 years have passed since the beginning of the Imperial era. Tthough the writers may have intended that era to start with Palpatine becoming Emperor, if we say it started when Palpatine became Chancellor, that gives us 3 ABY for the "present", which seems reasonable. That means the Twelve Kingdoms period ended in about 7,349 BBY, and the Mrlssi must have been contacted before that. The period lasted 4060 years, but the text is clear that first contact happened late in that era. The 11,708 ABY figure would place the first contact at the beginning of the period!
  4. Alien Anthology and Ultimate Alien Anthology both say "over seven millennia ago."

Per the WEG Tapani sector sources, anywhere from 7,349 BBY to a few centuries earlier would be a possible date. —Silly Dan (talk) 04:03, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

Pic Edit

The main image seems to conflict with most other images of Mrlssi. This is the only image I've seen in which they have beaks and colorful plumes.--Darth Oblivion 01:57, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

  • The WEG sources do mention the plumes, though. —Silly Dan (talk) 02:12, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
  • Why is this image "more accurate" than this image. The later appears in Ultimate Alien Anthology that was published in 2003 while the other image is from Star Wars: X-Wing Rogue Squadron: The Phantom Affair - 1996! So is the UAA image not the most up to date impression of the species? -- Volemlock 21:54, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
    • Except that every other depiction of Mrlssti looks like the Phantom Affair depiction. Gonk 21:58, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
      • Why not include both images, with a BTS note explaining that the depictions differ w/o any in-universe canonical explanation? (See also Z-95 Headhunter, Ben Skywalker, etc.) —Silly Dan (talk) 22:09, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
        • Sounds good to me Dan-o. I just added a BTS section. Gonk 22:34, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
          • I think that this is a good compromise. -- Volemlock 18:10, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
