Destroyed?Edit

Where do you know from, that the Redemption was shot by the Death Star II? In Rogue Squadron the ship still appear, but just in a simulation!?--89.59.221.146 23:41, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

  • The ship is destroyed according to "Tales of the Bounty Hunters." Please see the appropriate sourcing that accompanies it. And, yes, the Redemption appears as a simulation in the X-wing books. A simulation is not real.Toprawa and Ralltiir 00:04, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
    • It appears in Truce at bakura. read the forse lighting page I got this from it.- A textbook case is found in Luke Skywalker, who was diagnosed with the disorder by 2-1B onboard the Redemption, a Rebel medical frigate, and was confined to a hoverchair for much of the Ssi-Ruuk invasion of Bakura, mere days after his near-fatal encounter with Palpatine.-If the death star blew it up then how was luke on it days after the death star was blown up?Admiral James Kaizer 13:56, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

A warning label should be applied.. the tale about IG88 being in the death star is at least ludicrous ..i see it more like a humorous gaff.. so the canonocity of the entire tale is very unlikely and so is the claim that the Redemption is canonically destroyed.

JarJar's tales are put in with the Warning label.. this should get the same trait. Unsigned comment by 81.9.165.184 (talk • contribs).

  • Um, no. Canon isn't based on subjective standards of quality. And I have no idea what you're on about in regards to Jar Jar tales having warnings, since I don't remember any of the prequel films having a warning to ignore any scenes with Jar Jar in. -- I need a name (Complain here) 19:25, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
  • The Tales comics' canonicity is ambiguous, therefor Jar Jar's pre-TPM life isn't sure. But the Tales book are normal C-canon, like every other book. So IG-88 story is true. On the other hand, this story states the DS2 destroyed the medical frigate. It's not sure this frigate was the Redemption, there could be more medical frigate - at least the wiki's Nebulon-B article says it, but unsourced. Darth Morrt 20:42, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

This is plainly ridicolous.. so the Tale thing only tells that IG88 destroyed "a medical frigatte" but doesnt ID it .. and yet we know that at least one medical frigatte was pressent in the Truce at Bakura inmediatelly after and you assume that the destroyed frigatte was the Redemption? Why not the other unnamed one? Sorry i usually dont discuss those things but this cant hold itself..

  • I am certain that the Redemption was not destroyed. The term Medical Frigate is used in other sources for the Liberty, which is clearly shown being destroyed. In the Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels, it is stated that there were two MC Cruisers at Endor, The Headquarters Frigate and the Medical Frigate. These names are given in italics as if they are the actual names of the craft. These names, IIRC, are used in the novelisation also, and repeated again in The Art of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. When Zahn wrote IG-88's tale, he was clearly using one of the above as source material.81.111.52.172 00:13, February 21, 2011 (UTC)
    • The Redemption's destruction is also confirmed by a more recent secondary source, the Star Wars: The Official Starships & Vehicles Collection 38. Deal with it. Toprawa and Ralltiir 00:18, February 21, 2011 (UTC)
      • Noted; I will deal with it as you suggest. Now please, kindly take the bug out of your ass and learn how to be a little more polite to people in future when they are genuinely incorrect and harbour no ill-will. FYI, I am not the contributor who bagan his/her entry 'This i splainly...etc.'81.111.52.172 00:58, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

The battle pictureEdit

How do we know it's the Redemption? There are at least over a dozen Nebulon-Bs seen in the opening scattering scene when they find the shield is still up. Also, the Star Destroyer modle used on the right in the pic, is apparantly the Executor's. I think. VT-16 09:40, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

It may be identified as such in Star Wars: Behind the Magic. I can check on it later when I get home from work. - Cavalier OneFarStar(Squadron channel) 09:46, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
Good point. Combination of lack of observation skills and wishful thinking on my part. Green Tentacle (Talk) 21:20, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
