Official Source?

• Does anyone know where exactly this blaster appears on the LucasArts site? I've looked around both Battlefront sites (since BF2 is sourced here) but can't find any mention. Also, Parts of Star Wars is linked, but again, I see no mention of the SE-14R. Finally, CUSWE lists this as SE-14r (note lowercase) and sources LucasArts.com - Kwenn 10:16, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

• • I found the name "SE-14r" in an IGN preview of Battlefront. By process of elimination with the screenshots (unfortunately I don't have Battlefront), the SE-14r has to be the image I uploaded (which I got from a desktop of a Stormtrooper, I believe it was on starwars.com at one time, but I could only find it elsewhere). The SE-14r has appeared in Star Wars: Galaxies (as "SR Combat pistol") and Star Wars: Empire at War (as the default Stormtrooper firearm), but I think it was first given the name "SE-14r" in Battlefront. Cornelius Evazan wielded a SE-14 or SE-14r in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope that was modified with an infrared scope and hairtrigger (per its Special Edition Limited card). I have not seen the "r" capitalized in any canonical references either, so perhaps it should be changed. Unfortunately this is the first article I have attempted to update, so I wasn't exactly sure what to do. How should I handle an appearance that names it incorrectly (such as the SR Combat pistol of Star Wars: Galaxies)? – Brynn Alastayr 07:44, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

• So we don't actually have an official source? IGN articles aren't official, and the game itself doesn't, to my knowledge, give designations for its weapons. If we don't find a source, this will need to be moved to a more generic name; "Stormtrooper light repeating blaster" or something - Kwenn 18:16, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

SR Combat pistol

I was thinking the issue of the SR Combat pistol could be explained as a competitor's clone, such as the case with the E-11 blaster rifle and the Stormtrooper One Blaster Rifle, but it's pure conjecture. – Brynn Alastayr 18:10, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

• I always figured that the SR stood for Short-Range. In Galaxies, the pistol has a bonus on short-range shots and a huge penalty on mid- to long-range shots. For some reason I've always assumed "SR Combat Pistol" was just a nickname, and that somewhere it's specific model number was listed. I finally found it on the Battlefront website. --KievanMereel

First Seen in ANH?

Is it proper to say that this weapon was first seen in ANH, when it's not actually in the film, but from several promotional shots? --KievanMereel 21:33, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Donor Weapon?

Does anyone know the source or donor weapon that was used to create this prop? It looks like a submachine gun minus the stock and barrel, but I can't idnetify which one.

Battlefront

the stormtrooper pistol in battlefront ii looks nothing like this at all yet its listed as appearing in that game ASDF1239^-DISCUSSION- 05:51, March 20, 2010 (UTC)

• It is true that in Battlefront II the Imperials use the Scout Trooper pistol as a sidearm, but originally they must have been intended to use the SE-14r as it is listed on the Battlefront I website (see link at bottom of the Article). That's actually where the gun first got its name. It could be argued that since it isn't used by the Imperials actually in-game in BF2, that the link could be removed, but probably not for BF1. I don't know about the Prima Guide for BF2. KievanMereel 23:00, April 7, 2010 (UTC)

Canon

• Hello there. Yes, you're right, Lieutenant Jovan does use an SE-14r light repeating blaster. Unfortunately, we can't make a canon article for it because, AFAIK, the name was used in a canon source. --LelalMekha (talk) 18:03, September 15, 2016 (UTC)
