I think the picture from the game should be switched with the concept art in the info box. -- SFH 17:45, 15 Oct 2005 (UTC)

New Weapon StatsEdit

Where did the new stats come from considering they vary from what is mentioned in the article itself? Reignfire 22:27, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

  • Fanon. 6 capital ship turrets and 11 heavy anti-starfighter laser turrets are portrayed in the game itself, and nothing else. Could someone check the length, also? There's a size comparison image on the page between a Destroyer and an AAT that should give us a rough estimate - Kwenn 14:38, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

About de size of the destroyer. Edit

I also think that the length of the ship has been heavily downgraded and downsized in comparison with in-game model and the concept art comparison with an AAT.

So i decided to solve it and I’ve been playing with the game's sketch using Photoshop trying to calculate the number of AAT in a row that can be fitted along side the perspective of the Sabaoth destroyer. Its hard to tell exactly where the row have to start and end the row of AATs as the destroyer is not very accurate as most points of the sketch don't align with each other because It hasn't been used a completely isometric perspective.

Anyway I put the perspective lines using approximate one point perspective and marked the edges of the AAT row , and discovered that i could put exactly 100 AAT little images of the tank (In the Mere cruiser sketch is more visible so i used it, upsizing the Sabaoth destroyer sketch up to its scale) between them.

So if you know that an AAT have 9'75 meters in length them the Sabaoth Destroyer must be between 900 meters and 1000 meters and approximately 975 meters using this simple image analysis of the comparison done by the artist.

Quite far away from the Fanom 275 meters guess.

Other possibility is to compare the Destroyer scale in-game with others ships like the Acclamator's that also appears in game that also reveals the ship to be between the size of this analysis.

  • In game they're not very big at all. The Jedi starfighter is only eight meters long, and it's at least as big as one of the Destroyer's cap turrets. Also note that the sketch is a pre-production sketch, so the size could have been downgraded in game - \\Captain Kwenn// Ahoy! 10:52, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
    • In space 'simulator/arcades' games like X-wing series, or Rogue Squadron and Starwars:Starfigther's the scale of the player's starfighter is upsized along with the rest of fighters in comparison with the rest of capital ships in sake of playability, allowing and easier dogfighting, other usual solution is to make relative velocities slower, so for better comparison of size must be made between capital ships and no between Starfighter/Capital ships. - 01:56, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
      • I agree there's no way it could be 275 meters. I went back and played the game just to try to get the relative dimensions on the ships from Jedi Starfighter and took this screenshot . As Mr. pointed out 10 years ago, you really can't trust the scale of capitol ship models against starfighters in a video game centered around starfighters, however I feel that when you see such a disparity in size between different capitol ships, you've got to feel that the scale was intentional. I've measured the pixels and found that the Lupus-class missile frigate and the Sabaoth Frigate are relatively the same size, with the Sabaoth frigate maybe 10-15% longer. The Sabaoth Destroyer however is 8.3 to 8.5 times longer than the Lupus Missile Frigate. If the Sabaoth Destroyer was only 275 meters long then that would make the Missile Frigate 38 meters long, about the size of the millennium falcon, which is ridiculous. Most fanon sources that I have seen put the length of the Lupus somewhere in the range of 100 to 150 meters which puts the Sabaoth Destroyer in the range of 850 to 1250. I feel that this range is reasonable and puts the Sabaoth Destroyer noticeably smaller than an Imperial I-class Star Destroyer. If we use 116 meters for the Missile Frigate that leads the Sabaoth Destroyer to be at 975 meters that matches concept art comparison with AAT described above. --DD The Shmey (talk) 07:31, January 16, 2016 (UTC)
