On the swoop bike level. There are several small ones in the desert.

Sandcrawler in Marvel issue # 81Edit

At the end of Marvel issue #81, the issue that depicts Boba Fett's "first" escape frrm the sarlacc (canon anyone?) it seems to imply that the Jawa sandcrawler that Boba is on falls into the Pit of Carkoon and is swallowed by the Sarlacc and that is how he goes back into it. While it seems wholey unlikely to me, how would one explain Boba going back in? (If you were to be a completist and wish to consider that story official.) I don't want to assume that the sarlacc possesses the ability to swallow something that huge, but to assume Boba fell out of it or something seems similarly ridiculous. (BTW, I am a completist and prefer to include as much SW narrative in my perception as possible, and that includes the Marvel comics...) Medleystudios72 07:50, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Special Edition VHS?Edit

I thought that the changes were made for the theatrical release of the Special Editions, not the VHS cassette. If that is the case, why bother mentioning VHS at all?

Should I put it?Edit

thumb I found this picture on as part of the upcomming release of The Complete Visual Dictionary. Its of the inside of the sarlacc. It has a bunch of text though and other stuff so should I put it on. Someone could fix it too if not. -- Cato Neimoidia 15:04, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

  • Well, it is a great picture, but I think the text might be a problem. Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 15:05, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
    • Then if anyone can edit it, then cut off the right side, and trim the top and bottom to get rid of the texts and pics. I think the small text captions discibing the body parts should be alright. This article is about the sarlacc after all. -- Cato Neimoidia 16:08, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
      • I could edit it but I dont think that it is a very good image. I think that we should wait for the book to come out and scan a new image. -- Volemlock talk 22px, 22 April 2006
        • Well it's pretty much the same design as the one in "The Wildlife of StarWars", which has been out for a few years...--Sauron18 20:01 28 June 2006 (CDT)
          • Speaking of "The Wildlife of StarWars", why hasn't anyone uploaded the pictures of the Sarlacc from it?

Sarlaac larvaEdit

  • Where did this information come from? I'm not saying its wrong, but it isn't in any of the listed sources.--Darth Oblivion 00:15, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
  • Never mind. I found it. I added it to the list of sources. Although it is considered Ambiguously-canon, I think its best to say the information is canon unless it is proved otherwise.--Darth Oblivion 00:19, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Reference to Antlion?Edit

Is it possible that the Sarlacc was based on the idea of Antlions? Who basically do the same thing (hole in the ground, mouth out, waiting for ants to fall inn?:

It always reminded me of it, and if someone knows it's a reference or something, and even if it isn't, we could add it as a possible reference to one? --Sauron19 20:06 28 June 2006 (CDT)

I'm almost certain I've heard someone say in an official source somewhere that it was indeed based on the ant lion, but for the life of me I can't remember where. We should ask the Sarlacc Expert. Darth Ceratis 21:30, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

I thought it was based on that one thing from The Odyssey... 02:48, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Sarlacc on Oovo IVEdit

There is a Sarlacc on Oovo IV. In Episode I Racer, there are two Sarlaccs. (Sarlacc? Sarlacci? Sarlaccae?) These are the one in the pit of Carkoon, which you either jump over or go around or fall into (the lattest being the one where you actually SEE the sarlacc), and one in the Oovo IV course "Executioner", in the final gravity tube,a short time after you enter it, you will see its beak poking out of the ground in a place where the gravity tube wall is normal ground (presumably to support the sarlacc). It is easiest to see if you just let the gravity tube's power push you along after entering.

  • I must have missed it. If I still had the game I would check. We should add a list of known planets that have them. By the way, is there a source that gives the plural form of sarlacc. I think I've read something that uses the word Sarlacci, but I'm not sure.--Darth Oblivion 22:27, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
    • I believe that the creature on Oovo IV is actually a juvenile Space Slug.Darth Ceratis 21:24, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Anyone mind if I remove the second part of the quote. I don't think it's necessary, and it's presented out of context anyway. - Angel Blue 451 22:12, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

  • I don't mind.--Darth Oblivion 23:09, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
  • Im surprised it isn't on he page of Han Solo quotes.--Darth Oblivion 22:15, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Merged with Science of a SarlaccEdit

  • I've copied any information from Science of a Sarlacc that wasn't already mentioned here and tried to put it in appropriate sections. Feel free to move stuff around if you can organize it better.Green tentacle 17:48, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
    • Good. I had assumed that got done before. Thanks. -Finlayson 21:51, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Images! Images! Images!Edit

If anyone has any more Sarlacc related images post them on this page so I can use them. User:Brain40 12, September 2006 (UTC)

Is there are source for what Brian40 added about its respiratory system?--Darth OblivionComlink20px 23:12, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

Super Star Wars imageEdit

Shouldn't it be noted that the appearance of the Sarlacc in that image is non-canon, as it is contradicted by higher canon? It's canon body would prevent it from being able to lunge out of the sand. Or is it supposed to be some other subspecies or mutant?--Lord OblivionSith holocron30px 14:45, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

  • I'd be in favor of removing it. - JMAS 14:50, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
    • I don't think we should remove it, since it shows a differing appearance for this creature, even if it is non-canon - \\Captain Kwenn// Ahoy! 14:54, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
      • Maybe it should be labeled as non-canon in the thumbnail caption? - JMAS 15:01, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
        • Thats what I did, but it was reverted.--Lord OblivionSith holocron30px 15:04, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
          • I wonder if they created that design for the game around the same time as the mini-series Dune first hit TV way back when. *LOL* If I'm not mistaken though, now that I think about it, they want captions to remain IU. Labeling it as non-canon would technically take it out of that realm. I went ahead and added it to the Image summary instead. - JMAS 15:09, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
            • If it's in the Behind the Scenes section, can't it be labeled as non-canon? I did so before I saw your comment.--Lord OblivionSith holocron30px 15:16, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
              • *shrug* I guess we'll see if it sticks or gets reverted :) - JMAS 15:47, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
              • I heard that that is what a baby Sarlacc looks like. Brain40

Complete visual dictionaryEdit

  • I love the picture of the inside of the Sarlacc from the CVD, (Complete Visual Dictionary). I have the Trilogy and Episode III Visual Dictionary but i don't want to buy the Big book. I tried looking at the picture using PhotoShop but the words are too blurry to read. Does anyone have a more clear picture that i could print out? Thanks! Quinlanfan 00:06, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Jedi Knight: Jedi AcademyEdit

In the game "Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy" (one game, too many colons), there's a level set on a desert planet where Jaden has to evade a creature that looks very much like a baby Sarlacc. I think I saw it refered to as a "sand worm", but that thing sure looks Sarlacc-y to me. 21:06, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

  • It's not. It's a Blenjeel Sand burrower.Darth Ceratis 21:29, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
  • Yeah, since even the less-than-canon baby Sarlacc is much larger than that of the Sand burrower. Brain40 12:00, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Anyone think this could be an FA? Besides the sourcing, I think it's good. Chack Jadson 12:46, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Yeah, maybe. A bit of references and it'll be perfect FA material. Unit 8311 13:02, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

A resemblance to the vagina dentata...? >_< Dear George Lucas that's nasty. I dont have any problem with profanity and other things like that, hell I think the breast article should stay!, but reallly, is this at all necassary and does it in anyway improve this supposedly ENCYCLOPEDIC article?--A creeped out Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 30px19:02, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

You think that's bad? What's the only creature in the Star Wars mythology that would fit a sarlacc vagina dentata? Answer: a space slug. And given that it has a mouth with teeth, the match is all the more plausible and unsettling!

Personally, I was surprised to see it compared to a vagina dentata. I was expecting a reference to Little Shop of Horror's Audrey II... Medleystudios72 06:49, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

What's the source of one possibly on Geonosis?--Borvo's vault 18:49, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Seems possible, but I think they just said that because its a desert planet as well

In The Art and Making of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed they mention that the Sarlacc on Felucia is a Mega Sarlacc, "a Sarlacc so huge that it covers a large portion of the planet." Should a section be added? I have a screenshot of it on my computer but since there is no place yet for it I didn't upload it. Galen Marek 20px (Personal Comm) 22:59, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

    • I think that a section should be added - it does cover a chunk of Felucia which is pretty worthy of a mention. Commanderbly42 00:49, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
    • Yes there are a few pics of the mega sarlacc in the trailer where Galen battles Shaak Ti, but then again the game will have many more. Go for it, it's gotta happen sometime, right.

Should I mention that in the Star Wars: Battlefront series, how the Sarlacc looks and attacks. In the game it is more wormlike, lacking the beak, and simply bites all around itself in order to harm units that walk too close to it. Dark Ridley 15:30, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Survivors & Felucia sarlaccEdit

In the "Semi-sentience" where it talks about Boba Fett and Zorba being the only known survivors of a sarlacc, is this talking about the Pit of Carkoon sarlacc specfically, or sarlacci in general? Reason I ask is because there were presumably many "survivors" of the sarlacc on Felucia as depicted in Force Unleashed. They had a base built into the thing, so presumably several people entered and left at will - not to mention Felucians themselves. Bit of a special case, I know. 06:20, December 7, 2009 (UTC)

Sarlacci can't speak or use tools. It's even considered to be a plant. Shouldn't the infobox say that the sarlacc is nonsentient? C Teng talk 00:23, December 11, 2009 (UTC)

Never mind. C Teng talk 00:29, December 11, 2009 (UTC)

I don't mean to sound like a bio-nerd here but a lot of this makes very little sense. Really? Interstellar seeding? Really? Medusa and sedentary stages? Really? Psychic? Ok, ok, the psychic is alright. But I mean come on! this is just freaking.....ok, its ok, deep breath... ok, yes, this is fiction, really poorly put together fiction, not Real Life. I understand that back engineering this thing is really hard since it is impossible to actually happen, ok, I get it. Phew, just had to blow off some steam, sorry, thanks.

Sarlacc Concept ArtEdit

Greetings, I found some concept art for this Sarlacc, posted on the following link: I was wondering if we could use it on the "Behind the Scenes" portion of the article.EVANTHETOON 20:17, August 3, 2010 (UTC)

Possible inspiration?Edit

Could the Sarlacc have been inspired by Yothga? Omeganian 18:15, June 15, 2011 (UTC)

Full body pictureEdit

Sarlacc full shot
I know it's been a long time since someone asked fo it, but I think we should use ther full boyd pic used in The Wildlife of Star Wars: A Field Guide rather than the one we have nonw (it's too riddled with annotations). I tried to crop one from the "Wildlife Guide". What do you think? LelalMekha 12:30, March 9, 2012 (UTC)

3.4 Removed unverified infoEdit

Is there a reference for the part where it says

"In the original script for "Return of the Jedi", Boba Fett was supposed to escape from the Sarlacc's stomach in a scene following the main cast's escape. This scene was removed from the script as it was decided that it would be too distracting from the main plot, many people would be led to believe, and expect, Boba Fett would appear again later in the movie"

I have seen pretty much every version of that script and no where in it does it ever have a scene where Boba Fett survives. If there is no reference for that can we get it removed.

In the early rough draft of the script Boba Fett isn't even featured in it. Then in the Second draft the Boba Fett scene is exactly how it is now and there is no scene of him crawling out.

Sarlaac on Umbara Edit

There is what appears to be a Sarlaac that is not mentioned in the Wookieepedia that is shown on Umbara in Season 4, Episode 7 of Clone Wars ("Darkness on Umbara") about 5:30 into the episode.-- 15:17, October 25, 2013 (UTC)

That was not a sarlacc, but another monster, forgot the name, but it may be some sort of sub-species, but that'll be a mystery we may never know.

    • it is a vixus. Also please remember to sign your posts. -- 00:27, December 1, 2013 (UTC)

Semi-sentience Edit

I feel like there needs to be a reference there, in the infobox, to confirm that designation, but I'm not sure what to reference.--Gobi-Aoi (talk) 12:21, October 13, 2015 (UTC)
