Redirect?[]

Hmmm... I'm thinking that this page should be redirected to "Shmi Skywalker Lars". But before I do so, I need some opinions from others. After all, it was the name she later took after her marriage. Even her name was written like this in the Attack of the Clones novelization. Any thoughts to this suggestion before I move this page? - Divinity 16:27, 18 Nov 2005 (UTC)

  • Go for it. If Leia gets Solo to her last name then so should Shmi. Redemption 02:44, 20 Nov 2005 (UTC)
  • Precident has ben set, names changes count. Good Edit thatsmyname3330

Are we sure her homeworld was Tatooine?[]

I remember reading somewhere that she was abducted from her family aboard a starship, I'll check it out. Unsigned comment by Pdixie (talk • contribs).

Is there an image to show Shimi in ATOC at the Tusken Raider camp? User:JainaSolo32

  • I made Shmi's last words recently, and a user called leialover fixed my mistake.--Windu223 02:43, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

At Risk[]

Expansion, referencing.

Help out if you can. Thanks, Jediknight19bby (Jedi High Council Chambers!) 18:50, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

Slavery?[]

The article says she was born in 72 BBY and was captured and put in slavery in 66 BBY. But then it says she was put into slavery when she was nine, which would have been 63 BBY. Was she captured when she was six, or are our dates wrong? -- Zelda Death 05:08, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Force-sensitive?[]

Was Shmi Force-sensitive? I mean, she was the mother of Anakin Skywalker, grandmother of Leia and Luke - etc, and the Star Wars: Episode I The Visual Dictionary says she could sense if Anakin was near, even if she couldnt hear or see him. Telepathy? Force Precognition? Force Sense? Force Vision? Antonstaen 15:40, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

  • There is nothing to say she was force sensitive and Anakin inherited his powers from his "father". The sense you describe could be counted as Mother's Intuition.--TheDoctor42 23:09, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
  • is the theory not that Darth Plagueis concieved Anakin via the force alone? hence Shmi is probably force-dead (so to speak :P) Toremode 21:16, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

anakin's father[]

Everyone seems to be under the impression that Shmi was miraculously impregnated by the Force, however i respectfully disagress for the following reason:

When questioned as to the partenity of the boy by Jedi master Quai Gon Jin, Shmi would say that "there was no father". Now some take this to be a literal description of some sort of imaculate conception, however, surely it's far more likely that she was simply referring to a distinct absence of a father in Ani's life and her task of raising him alone. accepted him.

Halfdragon100 01:24, February 6, 2011 (UTC)

  • She also said she "couldn't explain it" (ref to his lack of father). Canon supports that he was (at the very least) most likely conseived through the force. Korsa3 01:28, February 6, 2011 (UTC)
    • Also, the context of the conversation makes it clear Qui-Gon is asking about Anakin's lineage, not about who has been a father figure in the boy's life. And her answer—"There was no father"—makes it clear this is how she took the question: not "there is no father," as in the father has disappeared, but that there never was one. Are we to assume she the first of the Skywalker family? No father or mother or was she created by the force like her son? Some one very clever. (talk) 17:20, June 12, 2013 (UTC)
