Trandoshan mercenaries articleEdit

I noticed that the Trandoshan mercenaries article has been deleted and when I tried to remake it, it was said that there was a TC precedent. I was going to add more content to it but want to hear more about the precedent for its removal. Darth Batrus 17:36, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

"No terminal can match my l33t hax0r skillz!"Edit

That's the real quote, according the game's subtitles. If you have the PC version of the game, you can find it in \GameData\System\, line 6718. And Scorch does indeed say "leet haxor skills", not "superior hacking skills". YwingEmpress 19:46, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

  • I can see him saying he has "elite hacker skills," but I can't see them actually using that "haxor" talk gibberish you see a lot of online kids using. That had to be an easter egg put in there by the developers or something. I know the Xbox version doesn't use the "haxor" speak in the game. I really can't see Lucasfilm using "haxor speak" as part of their "in-continuity" universe canon. Also, this site is supposed to be using only American English grammar, according to the "Usage and Spelling" in the "Manual of Style" section.

I think this definitely falls under that usage category. I think it should be put to a vote. Sadriel Fett (Mando'a) 23:59, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

    • It's definitely an easter egg, but it's what he says. (Also, Scorch wouldn't really say "hacker" because the Star Wars term is "slicer".) Normally I'd agree with you, but to me, a quote's a quote. If you're not going to quote exactly, there is absolutely no point. (And yes, it's bothering me that many of the other quotes on this page are by memory and not exact... and I hope to clean up them up shortly. I found the exact wording for every single quote I used on my website; it's important to me that things are right.) As for what Scorch says out loud, I can extract the sound file to prove it, if you'd like. He says "leet haxor". And while I can't prove the Xbox version is different, I highly doubt it is. Why would it be different? Can someone else who has the Xbox version replay it and confirm? And does the Xbox version have an option to turn subtitles on? YwingEmpress 04:39, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
      • For completeness: Screencap / WAV File YwingEmpress 05:24, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
        • Fair enough. That'll work. If it's on one of the versions, that's good enough for me. By the way, don't I know you from the BFFC site or the Karen Traviss Yahoo Group? I just remember visiting your site the other day. Good stuff. Sadriel Fett (Mando'a) 00:25, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
          • Yeah, I'm on the KT Yahoo Group. And thanks. :) YwingEmpress 04:47, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
            • Yeah, it says "leet haxor skills", especially when you look on subtitles. If you don't look on subtitles, in my opinion it sounds like gibberish. Ace of Aces 2.0

Sev's armor Edit

Why would Sev's armor have red blood on it. To the best of my knowledge he hasn't fought enemies with red blood... or any blood at all for that matter. And the markings were on the armor when Delta Squad was first assembled.--Darth Oblivion 18:28, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

  • ok, i dont get why everyone thinks its blood, did it not occur to anyone that its war paint. Just like 38's, 40's & 62's only instead of being orange, yellow or green its RED. sheesh just cause somethings red doesnt mean its blood. Alex 22:59, 24 June 06
  • It seems the only way it could be blood is if Sev killed another clone or someone else on Kamino. That seems highly unlikely, but I won't say it isn't possible givin his personality--Darth Oblivion 00:23, 28 June 2006 (UTC).
  • If he'd killed another clone, Sev would have been terminated. The Kaminoans weren't fussy about discipline or defective clones. Vyze 20:41, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
  • As a matter of fact, the article on Sev States that the "blood" is actually paint "Sev wore the distinctive Katarn body armor, but his suit also had grim, blood-red streaks painted across it. However, his squad mates wondered if these disturbing markings were actually paint at all."
  • How the heck would he have blood in the exact same spots for each mission. It probably would've been washed off in Kashykk when there in one of the rivers. Wow people its not blood, i agree with the two reasons above this comment.
  • I think it is blood because when Atin fought Vau, Sev may have tried to intervene and got Atin's blood on his armor from the lacerations (cuts for you stupid people) on Atin's neck.

Random Man

So its more probable that it actually is paint, rather than blood. Arachon 16:18, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Weapons section Edit

There's no mention in it about grenades, explosives or melee attacks. If info's the problem, Wikipedia's article has that. Here's a link if you think the idea's good. 13:56, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

Only displaying weildable weapons, as available in Campaign Mode. Multiplayer Mode has tighter restrictions on maximum ammunition (example: Campaign mode allows 300 rounds with the DC-17m Blaster Rifle, while Multiplayer mode only allows 160).

Commando Weapons

Pistol- This is the secondary weapon, next to the DC-17m Blaster. You immediatly start out with both of these weapons on Geonosis. The pistol is rechargeable but can only fire about 8 plasma shots without recharging. It is an overall weak weapon, but good if you run out of ammunition.

DC-17m Blaster- This is the weapon you start out with on Geonosis. It is one of the three interchangeable parts for the DC-17m InterChangeable Weapon System (ICWS).It has a 60 plasma rounds in each clip and 5 clips, totalling 300 rounds. Weak firepower but effective aganst battledroids, Geonosis "bugs", Trandoshan Mercenaires, and light infantry.

DC-17m Sniper-This is another interchangeable part for the DC-17m. It has an added scope, but only has a 5 plasma round clip and 20 shots can be held at one time. Effective aganst everything except Magna Gaurds, and Spider Droids.

DC-17m Anti-Armor- You can only posess 4 anti armor rounds at any time. Causing a massive explosion once they hit there target its basically a grenade launcher. It is extremley effective aganst Spider Droids,Magna Gaurds, and Trandoshans with knives and shotguns.

Commando blade- is deployed when the commando throws a punch. It is useful aganst droids, geonosians, some trandoshans, and any light infantry. You have unlimited use of this handy gadget.

Geonosis Weapons

Geonosis Beam rifle- is the most effective weapon that the Geonosis Elite weild. Taking the fluids of the elite and turns it in to a beam, that can break threw a Commando's Sheild. It is the only weildable weapon. Having no ammunition or fluid ticker you do not know how fluid is left in the beam weapon.

Trandoshan Weapons

Trandoshan Shotgun- Is the most effective close range weapon in the game. You may only posses 24 shots at any time. 8 shots can be loaded in the shotgun at maximum. Only Slavers Can weild these weapons, and of course yourself.

Heavy Accelator Repeater- Is the most dangerous machine gun in the game. With blades equipped on the front of the gun it is even a formidable foe up close. Takeing nearly a minute to reload suggested reload when out of harms way or takeing cover. It fires 100 shots per clip. Only certain trandoshans can weild them. It greatly weakens your running capabilites.

Accelator Repeater- Is the backbone weapon of the Trandoshan Mercenary. Highly in accurate you may only have 160 rounds at a time. It fires 40 shots per round. It is highly innacurate and inflicts around the same damage as a DC-17m blaster attachment.

Concussion Rifle- Mimicks an explosion of a massive grenade. It has a huge radius and extremley accurate. It is single shot, and can only have 10 shots at a time. 5 shots per round.

Trandoshan Blade- Only weildable when playing Trandoshan in multiplalyer. It has the same effectiveness as the Commando blade.

Wookie Weapons

Wookie Bowcaster- Has a richochett shot, that bounces of the wall until it either loses energy or makes contact with a target. It has a night vision scope added. You can charge up the shot It hsa seemingly fast reload time.

Wookie Homing Rocket Launcher- With slow reload time it makes up for damage. Lock on to an enemy target and fire by holding down the right mouse key. TI also greatly reduces your speed.

Thermal Detonator- Is the most common grenade. It is also the weakest of all the grenades. It can destroy battle droids, damage Super battle droid armor, and oblivate Trandoshan Mercs.

EC Detonator- Is extremley effective aganst droids and in multiplayer it can take away sheilds and do minor damage depending on health it could even kill a commando or trandoshan.

Sonic Detonator- Acts almost like a mine. It only explodes when it hits an enemy target or is shot. It has the largest radius of all the grenades. It is the most effective grenade.

Flashbang Detonator- Blinds all targets except droids. This is the only grenade that is unaavailable in multiplayer.

Pleez give me credit for writing this -Twinkletoes

Twinkletoes wrote the original article but there were a lot of mistakes, grammar errors, etc. and I patched some of these. I'm not done yet; I'll be back at a better time to finish these modifications. --Speegs 04:11, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, but... Edit

The level of grammar in this article is extremely low. I suggest that it be cleaned up to match standard Wookieepedia standards. Frankly, I'm surprised that it hasn't been nominated for the Improvement Drive. Totema1 21:36, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

No offense to whoever wrote the article to begin with, but it sounds like it was written by a kid. I'm working on cleaning it up right now. 04:21, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Star Wars: The Republic Goes Commando? Edit

What's up with that name? I'm sorry, but I have no idea why someone would name it that way. I mean, where have they ever called it The Republic Goes Commando? 13:23, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Noticed somthing funny...Edit

I noticed something funny last time I played on the market concourse level. You know how there's four neon signs, three on one side and one on the other? Well on the side with three, the Aurebesh letters are backwards, which makes it look funny, but on the side with one, the store is called "Hugs." --Ace of Aces 2.0

Unknown shipEdit

This ship can be seen during the battle at Geonosis and in the first level at Kachirho; I have never seen this class of ship before. The front detail inset is reminiscent of an Eclipse-class dreadnought but I know it's not. Anyone know what class it is? Also, should a list of vehicles/locations be added to this RC page? pages for the films and other games have similar lists.

  • Heard about this vessel before. I think someone with cheat codes managed to scroll over the entire vessel and find that it was a CIS one or something. Drops off CIS equipment later in the game. VT-16 23:01, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
Here it is at Kachirho.

The only place I've been able to find this ship mentioned is in a mod for EaW:FoC by 'z3r0x':[2], and a mod for Homeworld 2: [3] [4] Given that RC is this ship's only (and unnamed) canon appearance, and the page you created, Pinnance refers to a name from fan-made mods, I say the ship remain unnamed; evidence points to fanon. A knight shall come 18:23, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

  • You know, I was just about to ask this same question. I recently got the game, and I've been calling it "Venator-type Republic ship", because I didn't get a good look at it until now and I thought it was on the Republic side, since it's moving in the same direction as the Republic forces on Geonosis in the game. Glad to see others saw this and asked before me. ;) —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 01:08, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

I know this topic is a few weeks out of date but i think it could be a geonosioan frigate or something like it. It has geonosian colors and it looks kinda buggish. this is just a suggestion by the way Groode hdoge 02:36, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Meatbag Quote Edit

This is Admiraljolyon here to all wookiepedians who own Republic Commando, I cannot help but claim to have heard a couple of quotes of individuals such as Sev saying the phrase 'Trandoshan meatbag' or a droid saying 'Meatbags detected'. What do you think? Before you ask I've just got the game from my birthday which was recently recently. 11 July 16:14.

I haven't hearrd that, but I could be wrong. I'll play the game again just to be sure.

I've had the game for about two years now, and I haven't heard any characters use "meatbag" yet. Next time I play I'll use subtitles, and see what I come up with. R3 T3 01:17, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

I played the game again with subtitles a few times, and I still didn't hear Sev use the "meatbag" term. R3 T3 21:30, October 20, 2009 (UTC)

I have heard super battle droids saying "human meatbags" before

Map editorEdit

Why does it say there is not a map editor? I've made maps for this game myself. It has probably the best editor I've used! It comes with the patch.--1upD 15:24, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Could you post a link for this editor because I would like to download it. --DisturbedScorch

There is a map editor. However, you need the RC 1.0 patch. You can get it here. You can get the tutorial for the editor here.--Cc1046 (talk) 18:59, November 12, 2016 (UTC)

Hand held Defibrillator ... thing... Edit

Dose anyone know what this is called that can be used to Revive your squad and were I can find information on it? User:Jedi Master Kael Katana01 or Katana 06:38, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

    • I think it was some kind of life bacta or something ??? User: Grand Admiral Potts 14:35 26 July 2007 (UTC)
      • I know they called the stuff that came out of the handheld thing field bacta, but no idea what the handheld thing was. Portable bacta dispenser, maybe? User: Ace of Aces 2.0
        • I think it's just that, a hand-held defillibrator, since it is actaully charging up before resurrecting your downed squadmate...
          • Yes but when you order one of your squad mates to use it on someone they say "Administering Bacta." while its charging. Unsigned comment by (talk • contribs).

Can't find something Edit

I need help. Since they redid the Lucasarts site, I can't find any of the screensavers or wallpapers that were on the site previously. I just got a new laptop, and I wanted to put them on here. Does anyone have them or know where I can find them? User: Ace of Aces 2.0

In Universe Dates Edit

Any information about the in universe dates for the missions? The timelines here note the game at 22BBY(e.g. Rise_of_the_Empire_era#22_BBY and Timeline_of_video_games#Rise_of_the_Empire_era) but the game actually spans the entire clone wars doesn't it?

Just trying to figure out where events in the game fit in with the Republic Commando novels.

Ttancm 11:05, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Well, you're definitely right about the game spanning around the clone wars, 'cause I know for a fact that the mission on Kashyyyk happens just before Order 66.R3 T3 01:26, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

Spelling Edit

The Spelling of this article is horrible, it should be flagged for cleanup

The KaminoanEdit

I removed Ko Sai from the characters and adden Taun We. There is only one female kaminoan in the game and the subtitles says it's Taun We Mauser 09:52, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Instant action Edit

Hello, I am about to get the game, and could somebody tell me if it has instant action? 19:18, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

It depends on what you mean by instant action. The whole game kinda goes by a story mode, and as you win levels you unlock certain "chapters" so to speak, in a sort of Campain chooser. But don't let this deter you from the game. It's really quite enjoyable, and is what encouraged me to become a fan! Hope this helps!--R3 T3 02:57, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

This article could do with having a section about the plot/general storyline added in, as there isn't really anything at the moment. --Tom rules 23:03, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Many of the creatures currently listed (Geonosian arthropod, Geonosian glowing arthropod, Kashyyyk amphibian, Kashyyyk arthropod) are redundant, as they have been identified and have existing pages with correct names (respectively Kreetle, Phinda, Jungle worrt, and Kreetle again). Should these duplicate pages be merged with the correct ones, or just deleted? A knight shall come 20:51, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

I say merged since there are some nice pictures and facts on arthropod's pages. Mauser 21:04, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Screenshots Edit

Hey, I would just like to ask if the site's in need of any new pictures for characters or vehicles related to RC. I have quite a bit of screenshots that I cropped from the game, that I use for backgrounds and such. I would more than happy to assist the site, and hope my screenshots would be of use.--R3 T3 03:03, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Spelling (again) Edit

This really should be taken down and remade. The spelling is rubbish

Screenshots HelpEdit

Working with what R3-T3 said, I took some screenshots too, but I can't figure out how to get them off. Can anyone help? Thanks! The Boba Fettest 21:48, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

You can copy and paste it too Paint. And save it and upload it to the wikia. (I'd just got the game off steam so I can help if you need me)--Jack Black 11:26, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

New article for The old Republic? Edit

In the upcoming game, Star Wars: The Old Republic, there is a class called the Republic Trooper. Players who pick this class can later evolve into either the Republic Vanguard or the Republic Commando advanced class. This game takes place thousands of years before the organization this article is about. This could lead to confusion... (- -) 19:08, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

For PS2? Edit

I looked at Gamestop, and there was a Republic Commando for the PS2. Didn't buy it, but I asked my friend about it. Apparently four weeks after releasing the game, Lucasarts stopped making the PS2 version, leaving behind very little copies. Anybody want to add it to the article, or better yet, own one to authenticate this? Corruption378 01:06, November 6, 2010 (UTC)

Coop? Edit

I don't have it for Xbox, so I was wondering if it has split-screen? The Manoc is out!

I'll be working on this the next few weeks, and may temporarily leave things unfinished (i will avoid this as much as possible). Please don't make any edits while the WIP tag is up, thank you! Manoof (talk) 00:40, March 9, 2014 (UTC)

Recusant-class Edit

So...I've been playing RC a lot lately, and...are we sure that ship at the end is actually a Recusant? It looks like one, yeah, but it's tiny. It's not like it's way up in the sky; it's right on top of the building, and yet you can see most of it. It's like, maybe, a third the size of the Acclamator as portrayed earlier in the game. It's also referred to only as a "Separatist cruiser", or "dropship", or something like that, but I guess that's to be expected from someone who consistently calls a rocket turret a turbolaser. And speaking of said rocket turrets...the Recusant-class is a destroyer. A few shots from city defense turrets shouldn't even damage one. So what gives? 22:29, October 24, 2014 (UTC)

Chatter On Geonosis. Edit

Hi. I was watching the game play for Republic Commando, and I hear chatter on the beginning of Geonosis. I cannot find out what the comments are, because I have a hearing loss, and the other Sound FX are too loud. Can anyone maybe try to find out what they are saying? I would assume it is about Theta Squad from the beginning of Hard Contact, because Advisor says: "As you already know, 36's (Darman Skirata) squad (Theta Squad) is incapacitated." Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.--Cc1046 (talk) 17:24, April 24, 2016 (UTC)cc1046, Republic Commando of the GAR!
