Confusion[]

I'm very confused on the issue of this series: are they still making new episodes, but just not for Cartoon Network, right? And how does Season Six fit in all of this?--24.205.161.69 01:21, March 12, 2013 (UTC)

  • The announcement was just made today. We don't know yet. — DigiFluid(Whine here) 01:51, March 12, 2013 (UTC)

Season 6 confirmed.[]

Filoni had posted yesterday on his Facebook page that he has not only finished the production of the remaining episodes of The Clone Wars, but he will be airing Season 6 with the remaining episodes on early 2014:

"Star Wars fans - I have some exciting news! We have wrapped production on all of the remaining Star Wars: The Clone Wars episodes, and while that might be sad news in one way, it's good news in another. It means you will finally get to see them. When, exactly, is a detail I cannot yet share. I can confirm that in early 2014 you will be watching the final episodes of The Clone Wars, including one of Master Yoda's most challenging missions. So, get ready. We've got Clone Wars and Rebels coming at you in 2014. Animated Star Wars is alive and well. Trust in the Force my friends.
- Dave

  • Are you sure that when Dave said that they finished production on the episodes, that he meant the entire Season Six. Plus, he doesn't actually say Season Six. So is it possible that he meant that they just finished the arcs that would compose the bonus content, meaning that Season Six would still technically be cancelled. Darth Pythonis CIS roundel (Talk) 19:39, October 12, 2013 (UTC)
    • Yes, Season Six technically does not exist—only the episodes that were going to be part of Season Six will be released. "Bonus content" is the common way that everyone (including the crew) is referring to the episodes. Once we get more information on the specific episodes, articles will be created for them. For now, the Season Six article is the best place to incorporate information on the future episodes. CC7567 (talk) 19:43, October 12, 2013 (UTC)
  • The series, not necessarily the season, was cancelled. We'll have to wait until we know how they'll refer to the remaining episodes when they are released. We do know that a season six was in production and that these episodes would be part of it. The term "bonus content" was adopted by fans and media but the press release didn't make it sound like an official title for these episodes. Alexrd (talk) 19:48, October 12, 2013 (UTC)

When is it airing?[]

It says "early 2014", but that could be any day now as it's already 2014. Does anyone know the time and day if not at least the month now that it'll come out? 98.212.98.58 15:27, January 24, 2014 (UTC)

  • We do not know. As soon as an official source supplies a release date, the article will showcase that date. JangFett (Talk) 16:37, January 24, 2014 (UTC)
    • Also, keep in mind that regarding the release of these bonus episodes (at least in the U.S.), nothing is 100% official unless it comes from Lucasfilm Ltd. and/or StarWars.com. There's a lot of hubbub about the bonus episodes being released overseas (possibly in Germany or Poland, for example), but no news have come yet regarding a specific release date (or form) in the U.S. CC7567 (talk) 22:38, January 24, 2014 (UTC)

Germany[]

Is it only airing in Germany? When will it air in the US or UK or anywhere else? Mmwa (talk) 22:21, February 8, 2014 (UTC)

  • Lucasfilm hasn't released any details on it yet. Once it becomes known, it will be added to the article. CC7567 (talk) 22:25, February 8, 2014 (UTC)

Episode Count[]

This article says that Season Six will only be 13 episodes. Is this true?--24.205.168.70 05:22, February 9, 2014 (UTC)

  • Based on all currently known sources—which are all cited in the article—yes. CC7567 (talk) 05:23, February 9, 2014 (UTC)
    • But the source only comes from a German site, not actually from Lucasfilm, so could it possibly be false?--24.205.168.70 05:28, February 9, 2014 (UTC)
      • As has been stated previously on this page, yes. Nothing is 100% official regarding an American release until Lucasfilm releases a statement. CC7567 (talk) 05:29, February 9, 2014 (UTC)
  • Is there any information about how can those people watch the sixth season who do not live in the Netflix-countries? --XXLVenom998 (Surprise me!) 20:17, February 28, 2014 (UTC)

Now referred to as Season 6 on Starwars.com[]

I'd like to point out that the "Lost Missions" are now collectively referred to as Season 6 of The Clone Wars following the redesign of the official website. --Lelal Mekha Old Republic military symbol (Audience Room) 20:59, July 2, 2014 (UTC)

That's also how Netflix refers to them, if that matters (I think it should).98.243.94.83 20:57, August 12, 2014 (UTC)
  • Shouldn't the title be changed? StarWars.com and all digital distributors refer to it as Season 6. Alexrd (talk) 19:25, September 7, 2015 (UTC)
    • The marketing campaign at the time of the episodes' release primarily referred to them as "The Lost Missions," which is why the article is where it currently is; the home video release additionally refers to them as such. The Clone Wars: Season Six still redirects to the article, which is how it should be—the 13 episodes that were released do not constitute a TV season in full, which is what led to "The Lost Missions" title. CC7567 (talk) 20:25, September 14, 2015 (UTC)
      • There's no standard of what should constitute a 'TV season in full'. The home video release does have that title (as it should), but since this is a season of the show, and for consistency sake, I believe the article's title should be 'Season Six'. Every current outlet calls it that way, even the soundtrack. I don't think that the argument about the way it was marketed originally should hold (for example: we have 'Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope' not 'Star Wars', same for the following films). Alexrd (talk) 14:14, September 19, 2015 (UTC)
  • it really should be moved (back) to season six, lost missions was only a marketing name CharlotteSmoothie (talk) 21:25, August 4, 2018 (UTC)
    • It's labeled as "The Lost Missions" on Netflix, and I assume on other media.--Vitus InfinitusTalk 21:34, August 4, 2018 (UTC)
      • it was labeled as staffel sechs/season six when it debuted in germany, and is now labelled as season 6 on star wars com also since the revival is called season seven it should be moved back. also we do not call season 2 "Rise of the Bounty Hunters" because its just a marketing name, why should it be different here? especially since the netflix label will disappear soon CharlotteSmoothie (talk) 00:28, April 26, 2019 (UTC)
        • Assuming you're referring to this page, the only instance that calls it "Season 6" is in the browse tab, while twelve other instances on that same page refer to it as "The Lost Missions." I don't see this as reason to move our article title. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 00:32, April 26, 2019 (UTC)
          • it has been referred to as season 6 before the name lost missions was made up, it has a season after it called season 7, this article has to be called season 6 CharlotteSmoothie (talk) 17:53, October 11, 2020 (UTC)

Status in continuity[]

Ok, I'm confused. What's the official status of this as far as the EU is concerned? Is it a part of that continuity, too? And can I get links spelling it out for me, either way?—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 04:32, February 28, 2019 (UTC)

  • You won't find any links or official commentary from Lucasfilm on this matter, as LFL does not formally consider any episodic content from Star Wars: The Clone Wars to be part of Legends. We choose to treat the OT films, PT films, and TCW as part of Legends as part of our own internal organization structure, since logically the overall EU continuity is inseparably rooted in those stories and cannot be properly told without them. Since TCW Season 6 was released prior to the Legends announcement of April 25, 2014, it too is considered part of Legends for Wookieepedia's purposes. You can read more about this in the Canon policy. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 04:51, February 28, 2019 (UTC)
