Did Wedge Antilles capture the Tydirium?Edit

In Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader, there is a mission where Wedge Antilles must capture an Imperial shuttle, the Tydirium. Who actually captured the Tydirium? Perhaps it had to be stolen twice. Son of Suns 01:19, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

  • That is a little bit confusing, yea. I suppose it is possible the Empire somehow re-captured it. That's stretching it a little thin, though, cause wouldn't the Empire realize "hey, that's the same shuttle the Rebels stole! TWICE!" Then again, the Emperor wanted the Rebels to think they had gotten a free he probably let it get re-stolen.--Commander Mike 03:37, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
    • That is all Rogue Squadron's fault. We should consider Wedge's capturing of the shuttle non-canonincal, as X-Wing Alliance was published first, and Rogue Squadron blatantly contradicts it. Thefourdotelipsis 06:10, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
      • Yeah, I'd say we put in X-wing Alliance's story first, and then put the Rogue Squadron one in as an "alternate" take on it and just state that the two blatantly contradict each other. - lalala_la
        • Just confirmed it with Leland Chee - Azzameen did the first capture .... 21:55, 17 October 2006 (PDT)

Which vehicle?Edit

In Rouge Squad II you used a Y-wing during the day and a snowspeeder during the night. Which is the cannonicle capture? R2-JL 07:08, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

The CodeEdit

In the article, it states that: "While the strike team onboard the shuttle transmitted an outdated security code". Is this correct? I thought that the line in the movie was "It's an older code, sir, but it checks out. I was about to clear them". I don't think he would have been going to let them past with an outdated code, but possibly if it was older. Should we change the article to reflect this? Skywalka 04:00, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Ideally, yes. But the older code was cause for concern with Piett, and he wasn't about to clear them....... 08:18, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
    • So he was about to clear them, or not? MoffRebus 08:44, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
      • Nah, he was about to hold them, until Vader told him to let them be. .... 09:14, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
        • No, he was about to clear them, until Vader showed up. "It's an older code, sir, but it checks out. I was about to clear them." Only after he picks up on Vader getting funky vibes does he ask "Shall I hold them?" jSarek 09:18, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
          • That's genuinely funny. I have always misheard that line as "I wasn't about to clear them", which doesn't make sense. .... 09:26, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

new and conflicting information Edit

So, when the article is gonna be updated with the new information? Why is it conflicting XWA? I would update the article myself but I don't have the books. That would be more useful than just adding tags. MoffRebus 09:57, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

  • I don't have the book either, and I'm not sure if I can add the Cross-Sections info without fudging up the current stuff. Basically, the book says that Azzameen stole the technical data for the ship from Zhar, which is a load of horse manure, since he A) Ferried the commando team that actually stole the shuttle, and B) Covered the flight of the actual shuttle from Zhar. In Alliance, that is. So, as you can see...conflicting. I've asked Chee about it; no idea how long it'll take for an answer. Thefourdotelipsis 10:01, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
  • It seams that there is another version of the capture in within the Fact files --Modgamers 19:56, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
  • And there's another version in "Dandrian's Ring" in Challenge 49.
    • Mercifully, that one's canon status is hazy. Dangerdan97 23:57, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Now that it is established that the Shuttle is named after a certain ore, shouldn't we rename the articles? Tydirium (ore) should be called tydirium proper, while Tydirium should be renamed Tydirium (shuttle) MoffRebusMy Talk 16:37, October 16, 2009 (UTC)

Essential AtlasEdit

The Essential Atlas, which appears to be trying to retcon certain events, just mentions Wedge stealing the shuttle, with no mention of Azzameen. Just thought i'd point that out. Corellian Premier 20:25, April 18, 2010 (UTC)

Solving the contradiction Edit

I think Wookieepedia shouldn't be so hard-headed. The newer sources tell us that Wedge steal the shuttle and Ace's mission acquired the clearance codes. Newer sources should beat older ones. The new sources represent what Licensing thinks to be the truth. I think it would be a fair assumption, that the first shuttle has only a callsign Tydinium and it's proper name was something else. Ace get the codes, Wedge get a better shuttle.Darth Morrt 12:11, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Number of shuttles stolen Edit

The shuttle that Kyle Katarn accommodated from Arc Hammer in 1 ABY got me to thinking about the shuttle used in the film Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Do you all think that the Rebel Alliance had, at that time, more than one stolen Imperial shuttle? --Dawth Mawl (talk) 15:43, October 17, 2012 (UTC)
