Ships of the Line

we should post ships of the line even if they don't link to the ship page it would make everything more offical information wise.Derekproxy 22:57, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

  • Specifically why? There are 24 known cruisers, and the category already covers them. There's no reason to be redundant and relink them in the article. CC7567 (talk) 23:03, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
  • Agreed. Venators 10:43, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Red towers??

What's the source for all flagships having two red towers? The only red towers I've seen are on The Resolute- and Kenobi's, Unduli's and Koon's flagships all have the usual towers! So where has this come from???? Anomaly Master 98 10:22, December 23, 2009 (UTC)

Empire at War

Would Empire at War(Game) be under cannon or non-cannonCom. Cody212th 05:32, January 16, 2010 (UTC)

  • Neither, since Venators don't appear in EaW outside of cut content. -- I need a name (Complain here) 11:46, January 16, 2010 (UTC)
    • Well, they were in EaW: Forces of Corruption... --OuroborosCobra 16:38, January 17, 2010 (UTC)

do they have any shielding active, or are their shields just easy to deplete as in the clone wars episode venstars are destroyed by bombers. and in the battle of coruscant they seem to have no shielding at all? or is this because of a full week of battle?NMN 01:53, March 13, 2010 (UTC)

I am not sure about the quote at the beginning of the page. I would prefer something that describes the Destroyer has a whole, perhaps something from the Labyrinth of Evil, it has been a while since I read the book, but I think that there is a good quote near the beginning during the Battle of Cato Neimodia.--Um2k9 This has happened before... 19:07, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

I Agree, the current quote doesn't seem to describe much about the Venator, and makes little sense out of context. Swordsquirrel 21:40, November 24, 2010 (UTC)

Quote unquote

The quote for this article is lacking. I feel that Barriss Offee's remark at the end of Jedi Healer is better suited. Who's with me? MillieMuddFan67 19:07, October 24, 2010 (UTC)

  • What is the quote?--Um2k9 This has happened before... 19:09, October 24, 2010 (UTC)
    • You can always put any quote in the characteristics section. JangFett (Talk) 19:11, October 24, 2010 (UTC)
      • I still think the quote at the lead section is a load of crap. Who's really WITH me? MillieMuddFan67 15:41, December 17, 2010 (UTC)

Does anyone else agree with me?! MillieMuddFan67 19:34, January 18, 2011 (UTC)

Bridge Schimetic

Is there a full bridge schemetic somewhere which could be put either here or on the Imperial class destroyer pages, we see many views and places on the bridge, but we don't know the layout with certain tactical and hologram pods, or do we? Skywalker here[Skyguy007] 11:08, September 24, 2011 (UTC)

In Latin Venator meant Hunter and also was used to describe a type of Gladiator. This name could mean that the vessel will hunt vessels such as the the Lucherhulk class or the Banking clan Frigate. This could also imply that this ship was a fighter. Both theories are supported by the fact that this vessel had a 1.0 hyperdrive and a massive amount of weaponry so it could have been designed to mean the type of gladiator as a Venator was someone who fought animals so basically an Animal Hunter-Warrior or in Star Wars terms "Starship Fighter". • Unfortunately, unless such a connection was explicitly confirmed by an official source, this would just be original research, which is not allowed in articles. nayayen★talk 00:31, March 13, 2012 (UTC)

The Eta-2 listing is all well and good, but it was only released in 20 BBY, and the war was going on far before that. What happened to the Delta-7 and Delta-7Bs? They were the primary Jedi fighters before the Actis came out. Furthermore, the episode Darkness on Umbara from TCW had Clone Z-95s possibly stationed on Venators. Earlier on, BTL-B Y-wing bombers were used during several campaigns such as the second Geonosis or the Malevolence Crisis.

May I seriously recommend someone add those facts? Commander Nikitikin (talk) 04:56, April 6, 2013 (UTC)

Missing armament information

I think that this article misses some info about the armament of the ship, as the deck cannons seen for example in the Revenge of the sith are not mentioned here. Of course i would have changed the article as i'm not sure if i have misunderstood, the cannons being some other weapons mentioned here.

I looked all over and I couldn't find anything about those, I feel like that was just for the movies sake, and everyone just decided to forget about that weird gun configuration. It is just the worst idea for a space crafts weaponry, putting big holes in the side of the ship and shooting guns out of them. Jksp (talk) 23:19, January 20, 2016 (UTC)

Are you sure? The guns are also seen in some ships in the Clone Wars. Also, the thing about "big holes in the hull": note that separatist vessels had them for flak guns, and that the holes are notably smaller than the hangar entrances. When you say that there are problem with the holes especially in space crafts, do you mean that it would suck the air out to the vacuum of the space? note that those holes have shields which prevent the air going anywhere.

Alliance Venator Usage

I don't see any proof the Rebellion used Venators. I checked the Rebellion (issues 3 and 4) comics, and the other picture of the battle of deepspace besh from the EGtW. Can anyone point me to the panel where the venator seemingly appears? EckhartsLadder (talk) 06:24, January 12, 2019 (UTC)Eckhartsladder

  • I think someone mistook an Acclamator or something. I definitely don't see any Venators there. - Cwedin(talk) 06:45, January 12, 2019 (UTC)
    • I don't see any, the information was apparently removed back in 2017 from the history section, but I think someone forgot to remove it from the appearances section--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 06:52, January 12, 2019 (UTC)
  • We're going to have some clean-up to do, as there are a lot of references to Alliance Venators throughout the wiki (alliance navy page, alliance starships category, etc). EckhartsLadder (talk) 07:14, January 12, 2019 (UTC)EckhartsLadder
