RankEdit

Hello, just a quick question about Yularen... so would he be considered a Grand Admiral in the new Continuity? If I recall correctly, Dave Filoni stated during the Star Wars: The Clone Wars (film) commentary that they made him an Admiral during the Clone Wars to show how he rose-the-ranks to the position of Grand Admiral in A New Hope. Just wasn't sure if that would make the position canon. --John Alfred Hammond, CEO (talk) 15:07, September 24, 2014 (UTC)

Spelling Edit

Since Tarkin uses the spelling "Wullf," I presume the Databank is in error. It has happened before. (Think of the Kothal/Kothar issue.) --Lelal Mekha Old Republic military symbol (Audience Room) 18:49, November 13, 2014 (UTC)

-That was 2 different articles! One is "W-U-L-L-F", the other is "W-U-L-F-F". But those were the same character!

Sourcing Edit

Can we not leave the obvious information in a personality & traits section shown to us through the primary sources (movies/show), such as his relationship with Skywalker, his grudge against Trench, and his silent attitude aboard the DS? Darth Ravigious (talk) 18:52, November 13, 2014 (UTC)

  • You can add it if it's sourced. When you post information, you're publishing it live for all readers to see, and the sources need to be there. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 18:54, November 13, 2014 (UTC)
    • Sorry if this is a stupid question, but where do I find the sourced information? Do you think some may be in the non-canon article? Darth Ravigious (talk) 18:58, November 13, 2014 (UTC)
      • My answer to that would be this: if you have to ask where the source is, you shouldn't be adding the information. You should only add information that you know is accurate and that you know the source for. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 18:59, November 13, 2014 (UTC)
        • A source/reference is material from a Star Wars product that supports the information you're adding. And for this article, it has to something from something specifically labeled as a canon source/reference. So, an episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, that would be a reference. One of the original or prequel films, that would be a reference. Something like a guide book or the databank on the official website is a source. ProfessorTofty (talk) 19:03, November 13, 2014 (UTC)

Naval Intelligence Agency? Edit

I'm getting quite confused. Previously it said on Yularen's page he was part of the Naval Intelligence Agency (it still says so on the actual page for the group), however that has now been removed and replaced with the ISB, which is separate from the NIA. Which is it, then? Cevan (talk) 03:02, November 15, 2014 (UTC)

  • In Tarkin it says that he gave up a career in the navy to join ISB, being a liaison between ISB and "Military Intelligence." Once Vice Admiral Rancit was executed for treason, it states: "Naval Intelligence had been folded back into Military Intelligence, and Colonel Wullf Yularen had been designated to take Rancit's place as deputy director." I would assume at that point he was no longer part of ISB, but that last sentence is really confusing because it's not clear if Yularen is now deputy director of all of Military Intelligence or if he's just deputy director of Naval Intelligence, since the same sentence makes it seem as if Naval Intelligence no longer exists as a separate entity after being "folded" into Military Intelligence. Tarkin is actually really confusing about how the different agencies relate to each other, and I found myself backtracking constantly trying to remember people's names and positions. -- Xell Khaar (talk) 14:13, December 31, 2014 (UTC)
    • Has there been any resolution to this? Rebels made it more complicated when Thrawn referred to him as ISB Colonel Yularen, obviously. Can someone confirm if Yularen is ISB or Intelligence? Uniform doesn't help since now officers in both intelligence services can use the white tunic/black trouser uniform. --SUPCOM0356 (talk) 04:03, April 7, 2017 (UTC)

Infobox image Edit

Yularen old

I know that we prefer to use live action images for the infobox, but I feel that the current image is too low- res. The image to the right is Yularen's aged-up character model from The Clone Wars. Perhaps it should be the IB image, and we could use the current image for his eventual bio. - AV-6R7User talk:AV-6R7 23:39, March 11, 2015 (UTC)

  • Looks good to me. Agreed it's a better image. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 00:29, March 12, 2015 (UTC)
    • But... he's not even wearing a proper Imperial uniform! It's a pre-Tarkin design. -_- --LelalMekha (talk) 00:32, March 12, 2015 (UTC)
      • Went ahead an changed it. Should I do the same for his Legends page? It's an awesome image that bridges his appearance in the early Clone Wars episodes with how he looked in ANH. Tarkin has no taste. - AV-6R7User talk:AV-6R7 00:35, March 12, 2015 (UTC)
        • This image is 100% fan art, which we do not allow here. That image is NOT from the stated source. I have saved all the images from the previous Encyclopedia entry, and that is not one of them. Therefore it should be removed from all articles and deleted. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 02:08, June 9, 2015 (UTC)
          • You're 100% wrong. I'm looking at it in the archived version of the Encyclopedia page right now. I'm happy to upload a screenshot of the Encyclopedia page as proof if you so desire. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 02:10, June 9, 2015 (UTC)
            • Just for clarification, JMAS, the Encyclopedia entries were updated sporadically, so it's possible that the images you have saved were from before it was updated with this Season Five model. CC7567 (talk) 02:11, June 9, 2015 (UTC)
              • As I stated on the file talk page, I stand corrected. When I was loading some of the most recent web archive entries for that entry, the image was coming back with the little red x, like the image had not been archived and was not available. Even just now, the full archive page doesn't load the image for me, but if I click the link to the direct image that Cade posted on the image talk page, then I can see it. I don't get it. It's also taking a long time for the full page to load, so maybe it's timing out for me. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 02:37, June 9, 2015 (UTC)
  • Is there really no better image for the infobox than the current one? The resolution is not particularly good. Perhaps one from Rebels or the picture from the Yularen card from Star Wars: Armada?--130.126.237.249 22:02, February 1, 2018 (UTC)

Early Career Edit

Do we have any sort of information about what the structure or organization of the Republic Navy was prior to The Clone Wars? Yularen obviously served under some sort of organized navy, but I can't seem to find any concrete information on it.-Rebelsofshield

Battle of CoruscantEdit

I know it hasn't been stated yet but do you guys think it was possible for Yularen to have been at the Battle of Coruscant? Jkirk8907 (talk) 08:30, September 7, 2016 (UTC)
