There's something wrong with this entry: The Yuma Desert is not in California. By definition, the Yuma Desert's western boundary is the Colorado River, which is the western edge of Arizona. So, if the filming was in the Yuma Desert, then it was filmed in Arizona. If it was filmed in California, then it was the Colorado Desert instead. Someone needs to figure out where exactly they filmed, to resolve which desert they were in. Again: East of the Colorado River = Yuma Desert, and West of Colorado River = Colorado Desert. • You are correct, so I've made the correction in the article. - JMAS 17:27, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

Buttercup Valley (where they filmed the Pit of Carkoon) is on the California side, in Imperial Sand Dunes. The nearest town is Yuma, AZ. We can either rename article "Colorado Desert" or "Yuma vicinity" or "Buttercup Valley" . According to Insider 48, the Special Edition shots were also in Buttercup Valley. Moved the article from Yuma Desert to Yuma to avoid confusion, since the city of Yuma was the main base for the crew, while the actual filming was in Buttercup Valley, CA, and thus the term Yuma Desert is incorrect. Jawajames 10:27, December 30, 2011 (UTC)
