The Tankers[2] were a type of guard created as part of a wider cloning effort and located on the Sith planet of Exegol, specifically stationed on the Sith Citadel on the planet's surface. When the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious revealed the secrets of Exegol and the Sith Eternal to his Sith apprentice Darth Vader, a cadre of the Sith Eternal guards attacked Vader. If Vader were to have fallen in combat, these guards could have been replacements as the Emperor's apprentice.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The Tankers first appeared in Darth Vader (2020) 11 written by Greg Pak and illustrated by Raffaele Ienco.[1] Their name was later confirmed by Ienco in a Tweet, where he expressed joy in how fellow Vader artist Leinil Francis Yu drew the Tankers.[2]
