Taral V was a planet controlled by the Sith Empire during the Cold War. During the Cold War, a Galactic Republic strike team was sent to Taral V to retrieve information on a missing Jedi. The planet was home to many dangerous species.
Description[]
- "Taral Five has no shortage of hungry predators. Unsurprisingly, the Empire's fond of them."
- ―Oteg
Taral V had a tropical environment. The planet's landscape was covered in tall grass and mountains. Taral V also had frequent lightning strikes, which were powerful enough to bring down an Imperial shuttle.[2]
Taral V was home to many dangerous native species, including lurkers, jurgorans, gundarks and vine cats, all of which were aggressive and dangerous to even a highly armed Galactic Republic strike team.[2]
History[]
- "The only way to navigate the Maelstrom is using a Gree computer hidden at an Imperial fortress. We need that computer to free the Jedi prisoner."
- ―Oteg
A Galactic Republic strike team was sent to the planet by Fleet Admiral Oteg to assault a heavily guarded Imperial compound. The mission's objective was to gain access to an ancient Gree navigation computer in order to navigate the Maelstrom Nebula and find the prison where the Jedi Revan was held prisoner.[3] During the mission the strike team encountered many of the native animals and Imperials. The team then went on to fight Captain Shivanek and his pet Ripper, defeating them and then taking down the base's security system. After infiltrating the base, they finally accessed the Gree computer. Imperial Grand Moff Rycus Kilran later bombarded and destroyed the base in an unsuccessful attempt to prevent the Republic strike team to escape with the Gree technology.[2]
