A fan in Tataouine
- "Well, if there's a bright center to the universe, you're on the planet that it's farthest from."
- ―Luke Skywalker, to C-3PO
Tataouine (Arabic: تطاوين, also spelled Tatouine, Tatahouine, or Tatawin) is a town in Tunisia. Although no filming took place in the town, George Lucas notably adapted the name for his fictional planet Tatooine. Filming for The Phantom Menace did take place in nearby ksour Ksar Medenine, Ksar Ouled Soltane and Ksar Hadada to represent Mos Espa's Slave Quarters Row.
