The Taung & Zhell Society was a student society at the University of Coruscant, on the planet of the same name. Tiaan Jerjerrod, a Tinnel IV native who later became a Moff of the Galactic Empire, was once a member of that society.[1]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
The Taung & Zhell Society was first mentioned in the canon boxed set and reference book Star Wars: The Rebel Files, authored by Daniel Wallace and released in 2017.[1] Wallace intended it as a reference to the Skull and Bones secret society[2] at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.[3]
In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Taungs and the Zhell were two ancient groups who fought a centuries-long war for control over Coruscant, then known as Notron, from circa 200,000 BBY[4] to sometime before 90,000 BBY.[5]
