The Taung & Zhell Society was a student society at the University of Coruscant, on the planet of the same name. Tiaan Jerjerrod, a Tinnel IV native who later became a Moff of the Galactic Empire, was once a member of that society.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Taung & Zhell Society was first mentioned in the canon boxed set and reference book Star Wars: The Rebel Files, authored by Daniel Wallace and released in 2017.[1] Wallace intended it as a reference to the Skull and Bones secret society at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.[2] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Taungs and the Zhells were two groups who, in ancient times, fought a long war for control over Coruscant, then known as Notron.[3]
