Teak Sidbam was a male Aqualish from the planet Ando. He was sometimes mistaken for the criminal Ponda Baba, despite Sidbam being part of the Aquala subspecies, while Baba was of the Quara.
Teak Sidbam operated as a repossession agent during the Galactic Civil War, and arrived on Tatooine while searching for a stolen freighter. He was known to have been a patron at Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina in Mos Eisley during the Blockade of Kashyyyk in 1 ABY.
Behind the scenes[]
Since the masks that were used in The Star Wars Holiday Special were reused from Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, many characters, including Teak, were mistaken for the character in A New Hope that had worn the same mask. Teak wore nearly the same outfit as Ponda Baba did, but he had shorter sleeves on his orange vest and had finlike hands and not fingered hands like Ponda.[1]
