Tet'niss, also known as the Mama Crab,[2] was a gigantic female trash crab on Lanupa.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Tet'niss, albeit unidentified, first appeared in "Zero Friends Again," the sixth episode of the Disney+ series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew,[1] which aired on December 31, 2024.[3] The creature was achieved in the episode using mostly stop-motion animation produced by Tippett Studio. During production, the giant trash crab was nicknamed "Tet'niss" by the animators,[4] which was later used as her in-universe name. She was also given the scientific name Megapagurus detritiphorus, which means "big hermit crab carrying trash".[2]
